That's technically comic accurate, as Prof. X intended for New Mutants to be separate from the X-men proper. Also, Generation X was Emma's and Sean's project in a different location. Would have been nice to have these keywords, but it's understandable from a comic point of view.

I like the Trainee here for the versatility, with this version of the generic pupil being the more offensive of the two. The CCE clicks benefit from Sidestep and consistent two damage, whereas the RCE version doesn’t have the same mobility and damage drops on the second click. That's a bit disappointing. But there’s something to like about each of these options, and the trait is useful albeit very situationally.
