That is a pretty good mix, actually.
5Witch, Colossus, and Apoc made a fine squad, as does Kitty, BRB and Polaris.
It is definitely a solid foundation if you wanted to make the jump.

They are a solid foundation from my understanding, which is promising. Do you mean to play them in PVP or PVE or both?

The three mentioned, to me, are all PVP contenders. Of them, only Apoc sometimes makes it onto a PVE team for me. PVE is almost always:

Kitty/Grocket for any node with a chosen-for-you character (essential and openers).

Juggie/Grocket/3* Star-Lord for the three "easy" nodes

Kitty/Grocket/Polaris for the three "hard" nodes

BRB/Polaris/Th4nos for the challenge node. Now, there are times when the challenge node feels designed to beat this team, and that's when I'll frequently turn to either Okoye/Hulk/Other (choosing based on the force I'm facing) or Professor X/Onslaught/Apoc (because I just enjoy this team so damn much)

In PVE, I see no way for it to hurt you,and it will probably help.

In PVP, that is tougher to say. Recently they made a change to begin powering up some 5*s. I have found that I often use two of the PUed toons with the featured one. You might get an event that goes screwy

I had two -- pulled Hulk (Main Event) and Jean Grey.

I had picked up a bunch of HP with some purchases, so I was able to roster those two and start planting my 2* farm. Later Howard will be on the chopping block, then 2* are expendable after I've at least planted a successor.

This means I've had to become careful about opening anything that could give me an unrostered 4* again. I've got the 2* farm, 3* champs approaching 183, and trying to perform in SCL6. My 347 Heroic tokens (so far) will have to keep waiting.

Though I do kinda wish I'd gone for that Polaris deal the other day...

I did the same thing as you. I saved up those Heroics like crazy because I was pulling 4*s left and right when I didn't want any. When you get to that point when you are ready, make Polaris your favorite. You will get those 13 covers and things will be amazing with Grocket. Don't spend money on covers. IF you spend money get HP so you can get roster spots. NEVER buy ISO

I got enough shards for an Okoye level, and I had been sitting on one for Hulk, so I just upped them both.

Is that combo still a workhorse? Or have new characters shifted the meta enough?

We got a 5* Scarlet Witch and Colossus that are the new thing but I am not in 5* land to comment how they fare against Hulkoye.

I do not use it as much as I once would have.

They have recently changed things up so that they give significant power ups to multiple 5*s in every event, so most of the time Hulkoye is not the best option.

That said, it can still hold its own at times.

But the addition of boosted 5*s has really helped freshen the game, imo. Basically, it makes a bunch of 5* toons so potent that you feel compelled to try them out at least, or just use the,pm.
