He is one of the cheapest "carded" Hawkeyes, especially for an Avengers, Thunderbolts, or GLA team. With finesse, I can see him being frustrating to play against - 8 range is long in today's game, and he can go to 10 range if you're feeling lucky with his (bad) attack rolls. A hit can then make it really hard for an enemy to base him (Smoke Cloud as FREE) or tricky for an opponent that doesn't have some sorta move-and-attack to get line of fire (Barrier as FREE) with his silly ol' trick arrows.
But I'd always pay 5 more points for any of his other recent versions. His paper-thin defenses mean he's going down fast even with his long (for modern day) dial. He has reliable, good attack thanks to his trait, but can only break reducers on his very first click. If he ever misses (and an 11 attack still isn't AMAZING) or gets based, he's just dead.
He's freaking Hawkeye!! You don't give him RCE in his attack SP or at least trait it? I could see the point cost being higher than 45pts for the power all down the dial, but at least get the powerset right!
Dream BIG, but keep the small dreams around just in case...
I'm really disappointed by "Trick Arrows". In a world where nearly everyone without a move-and-attack power has Sidestep, it's almost inconsequential. He's not worth using without the Thunderbolts ATA.
He already has RCE on the dial, having it in the attack slot would be redundant on those last 2 clicks. his trait covers that already by giving him +2 attack/range which is already better than RCE would be and combos with his late dial RCE in an attempt to make his 6 attack not as laughable.
This is interesting but I just feel like there are better hawkeye dials to give the legacy treatment to… Chaos War would have been better but I guess they are trying to spot light different sets as much as possible and we already got Morgan Le Fay out of that one
@Buckwheat I agree. I have a bunch of old figures I pulled out a while ago in hopes they get the Legacy treatment and FF vet is out in front.
@pokolo I don't think we need a Legacy for the Chaos War Hawkeye solely because they effectively remade that dial in CAAV. Same with Xplosion vet Taskmaster being remade in CAAV.
Well, he's kindof wimpy, but for only 45 points, if you get one good hit in and then he sticks a couple of arrows down the barrel, it's a win! And really, when he hits the back half of the dial, he's not an attack threat, so hopefully your opponent ignores him and takes aim at the other characters and gets an arrow down the barrel. That would be the highlight of my game and I'd consider it a win either way.

My biggest complaint about THIS choice of Legacy card is that it goes with a figure from the 2007 Avengers set... because that set uniformly had the worst dials for actual turning purposes. I would have also preferred if the new point value was 50 points, so he could join "Cap Thanos' Kooky Quartet". The Trick arrows and "Down the Barrel" are decent tricks to add to such an old figure. I feel like this figure may be able to earn its (reduced) points on teams that have Mastermind.
