Yeah, but once you go past 300, all bets are off. It’s not that the game is “balanced” to 300, whatever that means, but it does allow the most efficient meta at 300. LAMP, SIF, SuperICWO, BeltRider, all that was because at 300 there’s a limit to your garbage. I could, and have! dropped a pair of Worlds teams onto a map at 600 points, but I ended up getting slaughtered for exactly what you’re pointing out.
I don't even know what else he was running because you can do 2x LAMP at 300 so at 500 he should've had like 4 sets?
I don't know. Even at 300, hopefully these days with cheap dials you have plenty of force to kill the damn dogs. Then at least you're in a fight instead of having the dogs double time it back to a medic.
Figure costs were climbing back then & my judge thought 500 was best to allow actual teams to play without letting in things like Galactus which are possible at 600. I liked the format okay for tournament play which was never really my thing. I did well enough. It wasn't that I wasn't good, but I had to put together teams I wouldn't normally play, and I just like total elimination better than round or time limits.
Anyway, the core point was getting those dogs out of there if you see them. Good or bad advice, that's my advice. I mean the defense values on those Lockjaws is terrible so unless someone adds defend to LAMP, the dogs should go down relatively quick.

In ye olde days, when the local STOP pit crew player decided to change his tactics to LAMP, I simply used a force of 3x100 point OG Sentinels to pick up most of his team. OG Sentinels are immune to Poison There was actually some strategy involved, because for a period of time if you captured the last opposing figure the game immediately ended without earning points for the capture.
Oh absolutely, the dogs must be made to live upstate on the farm as soon as possible. To counter that tho I’ve seen people play Nanobots and protected on the dog just so they mitigate the threat to the great spongy loaf.

I remember someone putting protected on the Hand Ninja's he was using on his GL tank squad. It does get insane out there sometimes.
