I really don't think this piece deserves the hate that everyone lays down on it. Might be because I play solely for fun, and most of my collection is Golden Age, so seeing a dial like this doesn't really make me upset.

Abom has never been as strong as the Hulk anyway, so comparing him isn't fair. Also, I've got to admit I'm tired of everyone complaining that every piece over 100 points doesn't have Impervious.

He does have the Giant character rules, so that can either work for, or against him. Worked well for me, as my opponent kept forgetting I could charge up and still swing as if my charge range was 5, and when he was getting weaker, I could either throw him away when he did his job or run back to a lowly 12 point Medic and get some bandaids before throwing him back into the fray.

This dial seems pretty normal, perhaps a LITTLE less than what a Golden Age brick would have for the points. Though the Giant size rules make up for it, allowing for easier break aways, and further reach. Keeping his DV low later on is a blessing and a curse (Again, easy to heal, but also easy to finish off if not careful).

He's average, and I'm ok with that. The sculpt more than makes up for his short comings. Though I still love fielding him whenever I can.

It has been way too long since anyone pointed out how crappy this dial was, even when released. For the points, this character dial is an abomination.
