Hellfire Gala Wolverine and Vermillion, Excalibur Mystical Protectors and Soulsword
Wolverine has an attack power:
YOU MADE ME RIP MY DRESS!: Blades/Claws/Fangs, but may use it when targeting more than one character, and she must roll a d6 for each hit target. // When Wolverine hits, after resolutions heal her 1 click for each opposing character that took damage from that attack.
Wolverine also has 0, which is what is allowing her to target multiple characters; her special attack power over-rides the single-target restriction on B/C/F.
Vermillion (a Sword Object) has this effect:
EFFECT: Blades/Claws/Fangs. When this character uses it, after resolutions deal 1 damage to each opposing character adjacent to the hit target.
Is the effect of using B/C/F from Vermillion in place of using the (multi-target) effect of rolling a d6 for each hit target? I want to say YES, but the odd wordings of things that "trigger" under peculiar circumstances confuddles me. It seems obvious to me that the effect of multiple objects cannot work together, but the wording on the Wolverine attack seems to be in another category.
Another example: Excalibur, Mystical Protectors figures and the possible defensive/retaliatory benefits of the Soulsword against ranged attacks.
EXCALIBUR, MYSTICAL PROTECTORS: [Mystics TA], but only triggers during range attacks.
Soulsword
EFFECT: Blades/Claws/Fangs, Mystics team ability. // If this character already has Mystics team ability, once per turn when they deal damage from that team ability choose one: deal 2 penetrating damage instead -or- also heal 1 click.
Do the Mystical Protectors always have the Mystics TA, but it doesn't always trigger? It seems to me that the trait would prevent the Soulsword from doing retaliatory damage from Close attacks... but that would imply the object and the trait are working together, whereas in the Wolverine case the special power and the object wouldn't be working together.
YOU MADE ME RIP MY DRESS!: Blades/Claws/Fangs, but may use it when targeting more than one character, and she must roll a d6 for each hit target. // When Wolverine hits, after resolutions heal her 1 click for each opposing character that took damage from that attack.
The first part triggers when you use B/F/C granted by this power (otherwise It would say "When Wolverine uses B/F/C", not "when she uses it").
Same for Vermilion (its effect triggers when you use B/F/C granted by Vermilion).
These two do not combine).
THe "it" in both cases is B/F/C granted by a give game element (power, ability, or object).
For Mystical Protector, I guess they "have" Mystic, since the card just shows the Mystic symbol. Thre's a difference between having a TA and being able to use the TA, but the card doesn't;t say "can" use.
So yeah I think they would "have Mystic" for purposes of Soulsword.
If any of the sentences would make more sense if the verb (or any other word) was a negative please treat it as such.
