So in a game today a character had HSS & Phasing at the same time.
HSS gives Improved Movement Move Through (Characters Must Still Breakaway) and Phasing gives Improved Movement Characters (Characters Automatically Break Away).
What is the correct interaction here when attacking another character? Does IM: Move Through (Must Still B/Away) supercede IM: Characters (Auto B/Away)? Is it the other way around and the benefit of IM: Characters outweighs IM: Move Through?
Or does the Power Action of HSS statement supercede anything else that is going on; for example if you had Flying clearly the Passenger:0 must now be applied overruling the Flying abilities so does this also mean any Improved Movement abilities are ignored and only IM: Move Through is applied until HSS resolves.
So I guess the root question here; if a character with HSS & Phasing/Teleport attacks a character several squares away are they required to still breakaway after thr attack (so long as it hits?) or do they automatically breakaway and can move again after their attack.
Thanks in advance! This one stumped me a bit today but essentially allowed IM: Characters to be in effect and allowed free break aways during HSS and now I'm left wondering about it
Neither of those powers gives you the passive effect of Improved Movement. You need to give the character a MOVE action to activate Phasing/Teleport and the IM it gives and you need to give the character a POWER action to activate HSS and the IM it gives.

There is no interaction between these two powers.
You know it makes so much more sense when you say it like that. I guess the assumption was that when using HSS it's "move" wording allowed the adoption of the Move Action abilities from Phasing but never saw them as two seperate entites that are only on when specifically activated through an Action and not passive abilities
