The Dr Strange-esq pieces are always so powerful. Beast here falls right in with that. The ability to outwit a power on ALL figs within 4 squares is just nuts. Turn off everyones supersenses or shape changes, hell you can even declare prob and turn off theme prob. It even gets around SAFEGUARD. Then you have his awesome stats and powers with prob and 19defend. Just a very strong figure all around for 125. I suspect he's going to be the $$$ chase.
The chase selection has actually opened my eyes about different versions of some of these characters. I had no idea that Beast was the Sorcerer Supreme in one of these alternate realities. The dial itself is very potent, whether he attacks or not. A main attacker that has all the pertinent abilities of many great support figures (Outwit and Prob are nice!!). I don't know if I would ever run him at 75 points, his 125 points give you quite a bit!
In the current era, this is one figure with some crazy good potential that feels priced correctly for me. Historically: I've seen the "Sorcerer Supreme" pieces as a mixed bag of tricks, often at an elevated point cost with a dial that never really signaled "tentpole". This dial throws almost everything in the bag, adds a full dial of move+attack, 6 :bolt::bolt::bolt, and really only sacrifices Penetrating/Psychic Blast from the more classic dials. The keywords are VERY strong, including X-Men... along with the Team Ability. Every friendly attack roll has a 56% chance to give him a RALLY die, which he can use to gain Cosmic Energy... plus his power to be able to Outwit powers that normally cannot be subject to Outwit. I like this dial.
Rule questions go into the rule forum, etc. (sas you will see since this post will have horrible formatting the Units section).
STOP- When this click is revealed due to damage taken from an opponent’s attack, stop turning the dial. When this character would be healed by Regeneration or Support, it’s healed 1 less click. *Protected: Outwit*, Pulse Wave.
Yes, Yes, Smartest Mutant-Simian-Wizard in the Room: Outwit, Probability Control. When Beast uses Outwit, until your next turn the chosen power also can't be used by opposing characters if they are within 4 squares of Beast. // Opposing characters within range *can't use* SAFEGUARD: Outwit or *Protected: Outwit.*
Cahcrters within range of Beast can't use Protected: Outwit, which means that if characters use a power that has Protected: Outwit, they can use that part. This means any character can outwit STOP powers along as the target is within Beasts range.
If any of the sentences would make more sense if the verb (or any other word) was a negative please treat it as such.
