If i'm using someone such as Shazam or Black Adam can i move pick up the dumpster, then attack and then once the dumpster is dropped pick it up with my reamining movement?
Just wondering? If the dumpster isn't destroyed after using it........what happens to it after you attack with it. Does it remain in your possesion?
And what is the rationale behind destroying the dumpster? Why would it be destroyed if it was attacked (shot at)...but wouldn't be destroyed if you used it as a weapon. Would you have to do at least 3 points of damage to the dumpster to destroy it?
IF so......does that mean if you TK the dumpster and it hits for 3 points of damage....then it would be destroyed?
after an attack, the dumpster is put into a space that is adjacent to the target (attacker's choice i believe). this applies to both super strength and TK attacks.
the rationale behind the dumpster is that it is special, like all the other 3d objects. it happens to be special in that attacks made with it do not destroy it. an attack that deals 3 damage would destroy the dumpster. hindering terrain would be left in it's place.
Lying to myself was never the problem.
The problem was when I believed.
I think HSS combined with SS and the dumpster is a very broken combination. In our friendly game we modified the dumpster so that the first time it is used it counts as a heavy object, the second time it's a light, and after that it's destroyed. LE Shazam with the dumpster is not a pretty sight.

Yeah. I'm getting pretty tired of people storing Dumpsters in therir boxes next to their Black Adams and Supermen.
It basically means "Hi... I'm using Black adam... but I'll be upping his damage to 5 for free this game as I bought a dumpster."
One game that this happened, I reqiested that we choose object tokens one at a time and trade out for 3d objects. I took the dumpster just to keep him from having a permanent +2 damage. The next time I tried that, the guy (different guy) had more than one dumpster so that I would basically have to draw all three heavy object to keep him from using it.
I was wondering if there is any way to prevent multiple dumpsters from play...
I'm not sure I'f I'm being the poor sport, or if I'm justified in being put off by the habit of attaching dumpsters to the HSS figs.
Originally posted by Scooterman It doesn't have to be a dumpster, it can be another object...just not the one you have attacked with since it's no longer there.
True, but without 3d objects, there is a finite amopunt of times that a character can get +2 to there damage dealt: 3. And three +1s.
I'm not actually saying that the Dumpster is broken. I like it in theory. I just don't like the fact that anyone willing to buy the outdoor kit can have a permanent +2 to their HSS/SS characters. (Without the HSS someone on the other team has a chance of picking it up and using it after getting whacked with it.)
I just wish there were a way (aside from saying "I'd rather not allow 3d objects") to at least make there a *CHANCE* that Black adam/Amazo/Superman doesn't start and end the game with the Dumpster in his hand.
There's a really easy fix for the dumpster problem. You just need 2 outwits. Get them both in range, and you can use one as bait, while the other one outwits Super Strength. The object is dropped, and then you have a third piece to blast the object for 3. End of dumpster. Because the dumpster has to be used in close combat, the best that any figure can do would be to be TK'd up, hit and then run away, which means the max movement away from the target is 12. most folks don't even do that, they typically TK up, use some movement, hit, and then run back, sometimes into soaring. at that point all you really need is to have your outwitter either move into range to outwit the soaring character, then when the object drops, TK up a ranged hitter to destroy the dumpster. And if you can swing it, Take someone with range, dual arrows, and a decent 3 or 4 damage, perplex that up, have them dual target the object and another piece, that way you are still getting an attack in and aren't wasting 3 damage just on an object. Plenty of ways to deal with the HSS/SS/Dumpster combo.
Lead me not into temptation, just point me in the general direction and I'll find it myself.
To be honest: I Didn't know the Dumpster could be destroyed at all until this thread.
It was portrayed as "indestructable"
I *have* successfully outwitted SS and took the dumpster myself before... but that is only useful until I use it, at which point the HSS guy smacks someone with it again....
I like this Outwit SS and destroy Dumpster tactic.
