What is the "Official" way of selecting and placing objects? I read the section on this in the Universe Rule book and I've got a few questions:
Quote
Once all players have chosen their starting areas, each player must place three object tokens face down in a single pile off to the side of the map. Starting with the first player, each player takes a token from the pile, looks at it, and places it face-up on the battlefield. Objects must be placed on clear terrain (see “Clear Terrain,” p. 19) and cannot be placed in any player’s starting area. Continue in a clockwise direction until all tokens are placed on the
battlefield.
Can each player choose what objects tokens he wants? All 3 heavy for example?
Are the objects placed in one pile for everyone or one pile per player?
If they are placed in one pile for everyone do you randomize them? The rule book doesn't say that you randomize them but i'm assuming that you would otherwise why bother?
Can you replace multiple objects with the same kind of 3D object. For example i pick up and reveal a heavy object replace it with a dumpster and place it. Next i pick up another heavy object and replace it with another dumpster. Is this kosher?
Hulk like dumpsters!
From 3D rules:
Quote
Objects are three-dimensional figures that players can use in place of heavy and light object tokens. When using 3D objects, choose and place the regular object tokens normally. Once the object tokens have been flipped face-up but before they are placed on the map, each player may replace the object tokens he or she chose with a 3D object of the same type, light or heavy. 3D objects function like object tokens, but provide the bonuses listed below when attacking with the object, unless otherwise stated.
I'm just looking for a more robust set of instructions around this process. I've notice a lot of people have their own little process for doing this that may or may not be based on what's in the rules.
All warfare is based on deception. Hence when able to attack we must seem unable. When we are near we must make the enemy believe we are far away when far away we must make him believe we are near. Feign disorder, and crush him. Sun Tzu

Yes. Perfectly legal. You are responsible for bringing 6, but you only use 3.

In a singlepile and both players draw from the same pile.

We usually just mix them up.

Tes. Perfectly kosher. As long as you have a 3D object to replace a token with, you can replace it.

Hopefully this will help.
In my day, we didn't have Heroclix. If you were being attacked by Superman with a 3d dumpster, you just had to hope you could outrun him.

Assuming a 2 player game, each player brings any 3 object tokens they would like to the game. They could all be heavy objects. If both players do this you will have 6 heavy object tokens.

They are placed in one pile for all the players.

They are mixed up.

If you own multiple dumpsters and you draw multiple heavy objects, go for it.

Does not matter, either/or.

You can if you want too, and it is up to you and your opponent

Yes you can use multiple dumpters. If I had multiple Soda Machines I would be using them.

Sweet! Thanks. I got into it a bit with a guy a the last event i played at. He insisted that it had to be 3 heavy/3 light.
I insisted that you got to choose. But I was forgetting about the mixing them up and picking at random.

Of course, you don't have any Super Strengthers or TKers on your team, then you'd want to pick 3 light objects...
Maybe it was you!!!!
Did I just kick your butt in With a "Trick Shot" Veteren GL?

Nope, I just looked at the IC rules, and I guess it was just me. It specifically says each player places three tokens. It doesn't specify what kind.
I just assumed in the 3/3 mix myself. And not out of any tactical thought -- in fact, I like Super Strengthers, so I would have liked knowing it could be six heavy objects!
