Star-spagled kid (rookie)
ok i need helpo creating a 400 and a 300 popint team.
and i have not figured out what it means to "taxi" one of the teammates and be able to attack with it first turn. if this question could be answered it would be greatly appreciated, along with the building of a team for me.
thanks to any and everyone that helps or even looks.
1. "Taxi" means for a flying figure to carry another figure and set them down. The flying figure receives an action token, but the taxied figure does not. The taxied figure cannot perform any actions on the turn after it is carried (you'll see experienced HeroClix players refer to this as NAAT, "No Actions After Taxi.")
You can get the same effect -- moving a figure without giving it an action token, so it can act next turn -- by using Telekinesis. A figure with TK can move another figure a maximum of 10 squares. The difference between taxi and TK is that figures CAN perform an action immediately after being moved by telekinesis -- so if Jean Grey moves Hulk by TK, as soon as that movement is done, Hulk can perform an action.
You can also get the same effect by using the Passenger feat card. A figure with Leap/Climb or Phasing/Teleport powers may carry another figure, as per the restrictions/explanation on the card. The card and the FAQ do not state specifically that a person being Passengered cannot act after the Passenger feat, but I think figures cannot act after being Passengered just like they can't act after being taxied.
2. Attacking on the first turn. In tournaments, the following rule is in effect:
1.12 First Turn Immunity
During a player's first turn, he or she may only attack those opposing figures that do not occupy their original starting position on the map.
This is to prevent figures from being smoked off the board without having a chance to do anything. The ability to attack first often sets the pace for the entire match, so if you want to be able to move and attack on the first turn (the figures that your opponent has moved already) then you need a figure that can do that -- one that has Running Shot, Charge, or a way to TK the figure out into the board.
