I used to play MageKnight, but that got stupid after a while.
I am a big comic fan anyway. I am a Marvel fan predominantly, but if DC launches VertigoClix..

as for the questions, here goes...

What is this ICwO I keep reading about?
Can I use Marvel and DC,etc.. together in the same Force?
What the heck is the use of promo figs if you cant play them? Yeah, yeah, collecting, but I'm a player first and foremost.
If I don't want to use combat enhancing<sp?> cards, does the opponent still get to?

Yes, in open play, and at home. Tourneys may sometimes run line specific (i.e Marvel, DC, or Indy only) scenarios.

At home, only if you want to. At tourneis, unless there is a house rule prohibiting it, the answer is yes.

The basic use for promo figures is in friendly games. 9 out of 10 games yoyu play is likely not at a tournament... (at least for me.)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only two promotional figures that are illegal in all tournament play are Spider-Man (promoting Infinity Challenge) and Batman (Hypertime), and they are the only ones with "PROMOTION" printed on the dial instead of a collector's number. All of the other promotional figures are tournament legal.
