Build total is 550 points (?!). 5 actions before free move and leadership.
I'm having a hard time building an effective Avengers team.
What I have to work with:
U Quasar
U Warbird
U Vindicator
RE Northstar
REV Puck
V Firestar
V Scarlet Witch
R Black Panther
EV Wonder Man
V She-Hulk
REV Wasp
V Thor
E Wasp (Universe)
REV Captain America
P Jarvis
And of course, assorted feats of both Marvel and DC.
This is a theme team tournament, so I know for a fact I want to go with Panther and Witch for those two crucial support powers. Also, Quasar is another favorite of mine for his TK, fulldial RCE and high defense with Barrier/Defend of 17-15.
That leaves me with 361 points to play with, and I'd like to get 3-4 more pieces on there. Another ranged combatant and two close-combat attackers.
I could go with Warbird w/ Trick Shot for 149, which leaves me with 212 to play with to get both my close-combat beatsticks in there. I'm thinking E Wonder Man over She-Hulk for his flying and Impervious. I like the late-dial spike of the E over the V. Giving him fortitude leaves me with 75 points.
V Puck with Haymaker rounds out the team with an additional 67 points, leaving me with 8. Jarvis brings me up to a total of 546. So the team would be:
U Quasar 122
U Warbird w/ Trick Shot 149
E Wonder Man w/ Fortitude 137
V Puck w/ Haymaker 67
V Scarlet Witch 40
R Black Panther 27
P Jarvis 4
546
OR
U Quasar 122
U Warbird w/ Trick Shot 149
E Wonder Man w/ Fortitude 137
E Northstar w/ Armor Piercing 71
V Scarlet Witch 40
R Black Panther 27
P Jarvis 4
550
My problem with these teams is in choosing BFCs and to be quite honest, I don't know how well it will do. I can't find my faith in the team.
Any comments, ideas or suggestions? Other possible teams?

I prefer your second team. Quasar is a great piece in these large point games.
As far as BFCs, you could always try to cut down on grounded figures and play earthquake and poor teamwork. With the armor piercing on northstar, you probably won't need the outwit as much.
How about this team:
U Quasar 122
U Vindicator w/ armor piercing 114
E Wonder Man w/ Fortitude 137
E Northstar w/ Armor Piercing 71
V Firestar 64
R Captain America 41
Total 549
Almost all flyers, which means you aren't vulnerable to poor teamwork or earthquake. Captain America is there to be carried around as a high defense blocker. You want him to protect flanks early and after taking a fair amount of damage he's now your late game outwit.
I prefer Vindicator with armor piercing to the trick shot Warbird. The double EE may come in handy and will deal at least a click to every target.
I think that's a really good team. Especially when people see R Cap across the board. "The heck is /that/?"
I believe if R Cap gets hit with an Earthquake, 1 more will put him on outwit. Which is nice, in a way.
Also, I'm glad somebody else likes Quasar. I played him once at a tournament and people scoffed at him. I understand that his AV does indeed drop to a 4, but.. still. His defense is amazing. Especially on this theme team, where I can't heal him. (There are no Avengers with the Support power.)

V She Hulk has really been a huge piece for my Avengers theme teams. E and V Hercules are soooooo worth trading for if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed.
I would consider swapping out She Hulk for Quasar. She will command much attention, and open up wonderman and warbird to do a little bit more. You lose the tk and the barrier which are always nice, for a little more threatening piece.
I would probably lose fortitude then on wondy too if you went with she hulk, and add in the 19point E wasp to cart her around, block line of fire, or base other pieces to frustrate the enemy. If you dont use she hulk i would keep fortitude to protect wondy, since you will be relying on him more.
All in all, its a fairly solid team.
