Group A isn't asking for improvement. Group A apologizes for and white knights for Wizkids INSTEAD of asking for improvement.

The people you decry (and you do decry them) aren't content to do that.

Do some go overboard? Sure! And in doing so they weaken their own arguments without needing people like you to tell them they are doing so.

There needs to be a balance. People who you call "negative" are actually trying to strike a balance. They are performing a valuable service and shouldn't be belittled for it.

You see it as White Knights, I see them as the actual fan base.

And I'm talking about those who are nothing but negative, repeat their original points in a new post every other page, for 14 plus pages to a thread that usually involves "screwed, ignored, maligned, or the phrase "Wizkids sucks for doing blank."" They're not out to strike any balance, they're out to do nothing but gripe. Balance, as my original post stated, addresses both good and bad. Saying that Wizkids did the Dark Pheonix promotion to "screw" fill-in-the-blank-group-here isn't striking any balance. It's called a desperate cry of frustration since they are no longer the top dogs in the community.

There is nothing valuable to guys who do nothing but complain. There is nothing of value to guys who don't add to a game; but do nothing but tear down the hobby and the community as a whole.

Twain once wrote that a true friend stands beside you, even when you are wrong. Anyone will stand beside you when you're right.

The same can be said, in my opinion, of the true fans/players/community of Heroclix. They're the one's who take the good with the bad, they work to fix the bad, while enjoying the good.

You have now spent multiple posts defending guys who really aren't worth it in the long run to the community or the game.

Actually, I've tried to spend several posts telling an internet article writer to stop making value judgements on people.

You place no value on people who complain about some of the decisions Wizkids has made. Heck, you just implied that they are not true fans of the game because they ask for changes?

The "extreme" people you describe are a VAST minority. If you look over the whole body of postings of 90% of negative people you'll see that those who you say "aren't worth it" are people who HAVE posted good things, that HAVE posted positive things, and yet ALSO post negative things.

I'd say a true friend is one who is willing to tell me I screwed up. Better still, a true friend is one that is willing to give me possible solutions when I DO screw up. Best yet, a true friend is one that is going to stick by his guns in his efforts to help me improve even when 6 of my other friends tell him to leave well enough alone.

I grant you the last word on the topic, as it was your article.

In summary of my position:

Your article was fine without your need to bash people you call negative, and later imply that Heroclix is better off without.

Any community NEEDS balance. In this case it needs people willing to say negative things about Wizkids to counterbalance all the people who do nothing but pat Wizkids on the back for everything they do.

I appreciate all posters, the White Knights and the Negative Nellies, because between them we get a community, not a Stepford community but a realistic community that both promotes the current game and hopes for improvements that will make it an even BETTER game for tomorrow.

To each their own, but it sounds to me you're beating the war drum for a group that I'm not the only one who has made a judgement on their behavior.

No, I have no value of folks who do NOTHING but complain. Each and every member of this site has had a complaint over the course of being here. I'm talking those guys who don't do anything here other than complain. They don't post up strategy threads, they don't talk scenarios, they don't talk mods, they don't talk collecting. All they do is complain. That is who I'm talking about. Guys who refuse to have a good time due to one freakin' problem I have no value for. Majority of society doesn't value them either.

You're lumping in folks with a beef with guys who are nothing but negative. And never once have I ever mentioned a single realm member by name, so how do you know who I'm talking about to make your statement? Simply put, you don't, you just don't like the fact that someone finally spoke up and said "Hey gang, let's talk about some good stuff too."

Fair enough. Everyone has a different way of looking at friendship.

It looks to me as we are both arguing for the same thing, and that's balance. And you're right, there are guys who are 100% kissing Wizkids fell-fed behind; and I guess they balance out the total whining adult children who have hijacked this site on more that one occasion.

But, I have to say, I can't stand the guys who don't have anything positive to add. Call me blind to being open, but everyone can have a complaint. But there are a few folks around this site who are nothing but complainers, and even folks who don't even bother to play Heroclix, but only comment just for the sheer hell of doing so.
