Okay, heres the thing. I won a game recently through using the following tactic and I was wondering if it were a proper use of the figures.
I took a vet black night, tked him with Quasar to a ten range and then charged amazo.
Amazo, pushed on his second click with two tokens was in a corner on an indoor map.
My charge was for five , he was four squares away when I started.
I ended my move with the knight blocking the two squares that provided access to the corner.
like this :
BB = Knight
A= amazo
!B !A B
After the three damage shot with exploit weakness amazo couln't pull away and had nowhere to break away to. He could have broken the wall, however, the damage each round reduced him to below 3.
There's nothing wrong with the charge move that you did (sound strategy, even!), but I don't believe that Transporters can be moved with Telekinesis, so I think you were breaking the rules there.
Giants and Transporters can NOT be TKed. kinda stinks but I see the point to it.
I hate being tied up with no range with 2 square adjacency.

Okay, the TKing a double-baser no-no has been covered. What I'm wondering is, why did Amazo have to break away at all? If he was already on his 2nd click when you got to him, and he received 3dmg to put him on his 5th click, he has Phasing there - so he could've just walked right through BKnight if he wanted to escape.
However, if he was pushed, you might have also pushed BKnight to hit him again for another 3dmg, putting him past Phasing to Plasticity. If you did, and were on the indoor map like you say where Amazo couldn't soar over you... it appears that he'd be going nowhere.
It's at this point that I have to admit that I may have been playing breakaway a bit off! I thought that you could move through the characters you successfully broke away from... but it appears the rules only allow you to move through squares adjacent to those characters, not through the spaces the figs occupy.
Remind me to keep my figs away from corners with these transporters around, ay?

With phasing, you can move through characters, as long as you end your movement on legal terrain
