I was out of comics after Identity Crisis because I didn't like the ending on that one. Now I'm hearing people talking about Villains United and Infinite Crisis. Is this related to Identity Crisis? Can someone give me a more detailed synopsis or just a summary of what happened after Identity Crisis.
Did Batman find out about him being mindwipe?

wow you have a lot of catching up but I'll just give you some of the basics.
1 Batman knows and the League is aware of this, and he is pissed.
2 Blue Beetle was killed by Maxwell Lord after he found out Lord was working as part of Checkmate and was intenidng to stop all superhumans
From the one shot issue where Beetle is killed there came 4 story lines called countdown to Infinite Crisis
1 OMAC Project
Batmans satellite which monitors all metahumans has been stolen by Maxwell Lord and he has created these things called OMACs that can take on metahumans and win a good amount of the time. He was also mind controlling superman who he had beat the #### out of Bats. To stop Max from controlling Supes Wonder Woman killed him
2 Day of Vengeance
Eclipso has bonded himself to Jean Loring and is using the spectre to destroy all magic. The spectre listens to Jean because he has no human host. Spectre has taken down and good part of the magic universe(Dr Fate, Phantom Stranger, Black Briar Thorn) So now its up to 6 of the not so powerful magic guys to stop him before its to late.
3 Rann THanagar War- Rann and Thanagar are at war and looks as if the conflict will consume the universe because each side is calling on all of their allies
4 Villains United- Lex, Black Adam, and a bunch of other baddies have gotten together and organied almost all of the super villains. But a mysterious entity known as Mockingbird has brought togehter the Secret Six to challenge this groub of villains. (Best of the 4, really worth picking up)
So there are all these crossovers and everones being affected and its all leading up to the beggingof Infinite Crisis which starts inOctober
Well if you go back and read OMAC 3 then OMAC 4 it's perfectly clear......OH WAIT....no it's not! they decided to have the villain of the story die in another book...I was completely confused by that move. I assume it's WW though that killed Max.
And I completely agree, Villains United is the only one worth reading, it's awesome.
OMAC is inspired by the old comic, but unrelated continuity-wise. The OMACs do have mohawks, and are in touch with the Brother [Eye] Satellite, but that's about the whole of the similarity. Oh, I suppose the satellite does "bulk up" people, much as B.E. did to Buddy Blank.
It's just recycling the imagery, mainly. Which is too bad-- I like the old OMAC comics.
In Wonder Woman 219, WW kills Max because he was controlling Supes. Supes is pissed at WW because she killed someone. (It is true that in one it was revealed sometime in the 90's that Max was a cyborg, DC was hoping that no one remembered and as of right now is not a cyborg but a regular human, so he actually did die).
OMAC issue 4 happens after Wonder Woman 219 (concluding the Sacrifice crossover). Someone (not Max) also died at the end of OMAC 4. Not really a major character, but has been made into a HeroClix.
Apparently Infinite Crisis is more related to Crisis on Infinite Earths (20 anniversary of it). It has seemingly no connection to Identity Crisis, other than the aftermath of it (related to Batman things).

Well, in fairness to DC, the old OMAC took place in DC's future so really it doesn't "negate" that entirely. It could, in fact, be argued that this is laying the groundwork for that version of OMAC to exist (though we probably won't see a comic with it anytime soon).

True. And, I image somebody someday will tie them together.
As far as Rocket Red-- it's not clear that he was killed.
