[oop, posted in multiverse too, sorry]I have not played a serious game yet by the rules and I have about 70 marvel clix so far. I just uploaded my list of clix to the web and I was wondering if anyone would like to build some suggested teams using my army.
Here's a team that won't be terrible, but won't be spectacular:
Cain Marko 155
Y Songbird 44
B Gambit 44
R Magick 47
=
290.
You would make sure Cain and songbird are starting together. If you go first, then move gambit into stealth and I would personally move magick out to try to bait someone. Only move magick out far enough to attract someone's attention, but not far enough out to not be able to capitalize if they ambush her. If you go second and they moved their heavy hitter out, move gambit into stealth, pp something, and then TK juggs into the fray and let him charge. Just make sure you study your dials before you get in the tournament. Magik and Gambit both go down pretty quick but can do some damage if you need them to. Songbird will only be able to do so much by her lonesome, since when you TK juggs she'll be alone. This would be the team I'd build. If you take my advice, best of luck to you. Otherwise, hope for the best and may the dice be good to you.
I could be completely wrong. It wouldn't be the first time.
I used a similiar strategy to have Songbird TK Dagger (6 range, 3 targets) close to an Xman team (Professor X, Cable, Bishop, Medic). Dagger had Running Shot so she landed, attacked and retreated. I protected her by placing a Stealth hand-to-hand figure (Snowbird) hidden in line of fire between Xavier and her.
I had Northstar sneak a little closer until he could HSS in from the side and attack Cable who was blocking line of fire to Northstar. Of course Cable tried to move -I had not thought of that- but he couldn't break free.
It was:
Snowbird R, Northstar B, Songbird Y, Jolt Y, Dagger R
Versus a crappy:
Nathanial Summers (Cable) U, Bishop R, Professor X U, Hydra Medic Y
I was trying to learn the whole TK thing while being scared of that 12range 3target Mind Control on Xavier.
Vet Nebula 76
R Marrow 26 (regenerating MM fodder)
R Destiny 29
Exp Vertigo 56
Ult. Professor X 99
R Hydra Medic 12
Total: 298
Ranged terror, relying on Nebula and the Prof to provide board control from a distance, with Marrow playing damage sponge (remember that you can't Mastermind feedback damage, though). Just be careful to target any potential threat (i.e. Outwitters) to your Mastermind. Destiny provides PC and the Medic is on board for the tons of feedback damage that the Prof should be taking. Vertigo is a fantastic mid-range board control piece, with the bonus slot of Perplex.
Or (if finesse isn't to your liking):
Cain Marko with Unstoppable 160
R Songbird 44 (solely for TK)
Exp Hawkeye 71
Exp Universe Elektra 21
Total: 296
All offense - two bullets (of slightly different calibres) for your TK rifle and a brutal Transporter. It's pretty straightforward - point Juggy at something and have him hit that thing with a dump truck. Hopefully Elektra gets some decent BCF rolls and Hawkeye cruises the battlefield looking for targets of opportunity.
