So is piling feats onto other characters an admission of lack of skill too? Or is it just putting them on figures that can make the most use of it? Do I lack skill if I play Thor with IcwO? Or how about Mandarin with Stunning blow, is that too much? What if I use IcwO and just annialate the other guy without using a super-uber-power piece?
You either don't get what I'm saying or you're deliberately being obtruse.
Galactus is nigh-unbeatable by any team not specifically designed to take him on. You could build a 1000 point team, and a decent player could defeat it with the 600 point Starving Galactus.
Playing Galactus isn't about choosing an interesting team and seeing who has the most skill; it's about using the most powerful figure available. Galactus doesn't need feat cards to win even against higher-point teams, so if a player feels the need to put feat cards on him then either they think they need those feats to have a chance of winning (which would be an amusing lack of self-confidence) or they just want to crush their opponent as utterly as possible (which is a bit rude, in my opinon).

I don't consider using Galactus to be "winning", because there's no even playing field. A victory using Galactus doesn't count.

Last pretty much my attitude as well. I appreciate that people want to play their Galactus that they paid for. But, play it at home where he can be fun. The person that brings in a Galactus to a tournament unannounced is the type of player that isn't concerned about being liked or other people enjoying the game.
The Galactus strategy wreaks of, "I don't want to even have a chance that I'll lose." What's the point of even playing a game with dice as a major component if you want to win so badly you slap down a near auto-win piece? Perhaps that person would rathert be playing a 5 year old as opposed to an adult, then he/she could really ensure a victory with Galactus.
It all comes back to good will within a venue setting. The judge and players aren't spending 4 hours of a weekend so they can NOT have fun. And Galactus 90% of the time, is the most un-fun piece in the game.

I almost agree with those who say galactus is an instant win. Triple cosmic multi-action is what seems to make him borken. Not saying that there are not teams that cant beat him. Just sometimes those teams are not good at beating anything else. I have seen tournaments run where he was limited to one action and he seemed fairly balanced. Side-note: I think that nova blast can be used, because it alters the normal way pulse wave works. I dont see a reason for it to not change how HIS pulsewave normally works.
all i see is hate fear and jealousy. Galactus is a legal piece, every bit as firelord and other accused "broken" figures. If all your going to do is piss and moan about him go play the star wars mini game, theres no galactus there.

(ok back to our regularly scheduled program...)
I hold tourneys where galactus is welcome and everyone knows he's coming. I even bring mine in case somebody wants to borrow it. Guess what? He just sits beside me watching everybody battle it out with their regular figures. Nobody really wants to play with him and everybody is afraid to be the first to lose with him (oh the shame!) Somebody besides me has only brought him once to any tourney I've held.
You know a good cure for Galactus? Play for ante. Winner takes all. Although he's darn near an auto win (except against me) I don't know too many people that will risk that one loss.

Um, my point was that why would I waste 4 hours, gas and energy going to a tournament if I know before the tournament starts that I have zero chance of not just winning, but even competing?
Fine, he exists, he even comes with a fun scenario to play him with. I have also seen judges design creative scenarios to use him in. However I've never seen him played in a tournament where anyone but the player had fun. I don't play this game for cool prizes, I play b/c its fun.
To answer some questions: There could have been up to three Galactus (Galactuses, Galactui, whatever the plural of Galactus would be) there that day.
He is legal so I won't ban Galactus, but we hadn't seen this player in a few months, and lo and behold, there he is with a Galactus with feat cards on him. Everyone still had fun, but it was a forgone conclusion that Galactus would win and everyone was playing for the second place, which would receive a prize as well.
You can feel anyway you like, but placing feat cards on Galactus is lame and unsportsman like. Show up with Galactus is you must. Place Nova Blast on him, but don't expect any hand shakes and high fives after you utterly destroy the other team.
Prize or no prize. If you're not having fun, whats the point?

Sorry, I tried to cover what I saw as the point of your post, that that putting feat cards on an overpowering figure is wrong. So, is your problem someone using Galactus to begin with or that putting feat cards on him is just overkill on top of overkill?
Yeah, Galactus is obscenely powerful and probably doesn't need the help, but there are those times when he could use the extra boost cause he isn't actually unbeatable. I see the feats as more of an insurance that Galactus doesn't go down, and the player seemed to think that too since he apparently was using the Oracle bonus for defence most of the time. The same goes for those that suggest Fortitude and Armor Piercing to make double sure he can't be outwitted or that his damage will get through.
And if Oracle still bothers you that much, just think of it as tapping into the Power Cosmic or whatever other resource depending on the theme you are using.

Lame and un-sportsmanlike? What exactly is "sportsmanship"? Let me remind us all of how the word is actually defined:
Conduct and attitude considered as befitting participants in sports, especially fair play, courtesy, striving spirit, and grace in losing. (American Heritage Dictionary)
I don't care how you spin it, using Galactus isn't cheating. If the kid was a jerk about it - dancing on tables, doing a crotch-chop after attacks, etc. - that's a different story. But just because a figure is exceptional and requires little or no skill to use doesn't mean that using it is cheating. Or un-sportsmanlike. Notice "sportsmanship" doesn't mean giving your opponent an opportunity to win. And if playing Big G was truly unfair - then I'm sure WK's would have banned him. They do everything else that mildly smells of abuse.
So quit your whining.
