Just picked up "Thor: Blood Oath" issue 2. Ignoring the front/back (and inner) covers, there are 20 pages of story and 27 (twenty-seven) pages of ads.
It doesn't help matters that with the art bleeding to the edge of the page it is confusing at first glance to differentiate between story and advert pages. I think the only two pages of consecutive story were the final double splash page (which practically, just couldn't be split up). Reading the issue got me extremely frustrated and gave me a headache.
I also noticed a similar increase in ads pages in this week's Uncanny X-Men. The comics feel very thick as a consequence but you are just getting a plethora of ads.
This really isn't on, Marvel. Sort yourselves out.
