okay there is a 1000 point tournament this weekend and my buddy already said he is going to pick a dark phoenix. here is the kicker...it is 1000 points, no feat cards and no figures under 100.

here is the team i have made for myself...

225 U KC green lantern
200 LE silver surfer
144 U (ULT) iron man
111 V (LEG) batman
110 V (FF) dr. strange
110 V (IC) spider-man
100 E the demon

after looking at my team i don't know if this could handle a dark phoenix. he might throw down some crazy BFC too. so i'm saving an ordinary day just in case i have to meet him. another bummer is that i don't have a disbanded feat. which would probably hurt my own cause anyway.

so my question is has anyone ever taken down a dark phoenix without feat cards.

I played a Dark Phoenix once and a swarm of all X-men team took it down due to good rolling and positioning. No feats or BFC played.

man thats crazy. i bet you were taking each and every one of those little buggers in one shot too.

the problem is with no feats i can use fortitude, so i don't want to pick a V superman or anything like that. i don't like playing figures like that in the first place. i also can't stand having my defenses outwitted and then get popped for like 7 damage, that is the worse.

Mystics & wildcards can do wonders against the old girl...few medics & some PC will go a long way....

He stated no figures under 100. I am not sure if there are any Support-loaded figures out there at more than 100 points.

It's a REAL shame you can't use Feat cards, because you need to chip away at her. Armor Piercing is real good for that.

Disbanded is VERY important when fighting DP -- removing her Power Cosmic ability will slow her game down by 100%. She can still act every turn, but she'll take pushing damage to do so.

I don't have the DP rules with me -- is she naturally immune to Outwit? I don't think so. A team of Outwitters might come in very handy.

Good luck -- I played against a V Dark Phoenix and a Gladiator in a 1200 point game once (yes, I know that DP and Gladiator came out to 1205... I agreed to the point difference). I got my butt handed to me.

If its an indoor map you will have a better chance...

Dr. strange is good for outwit and then PC, I would alo think about KC Flash for outwit but without using AP it would be 150 just for outwit... bad idea!

Thats not even fair too you, He's limiting you to no figures under 100 and no feats. That is truly lame. granted Last time I faced DP Manticore Punisher, and The red hood owned her. The onlt people to die were Blob and toad. My thought is make a High point WC abuse team. Ditch the surfer, and Hide KC GL till the end. That way when you drop her to like an 11 attack you can whoop up on her. As much as hate to sya it V supes will also be a great help.
