A follow up, as it were, on Gargantua and Flyingicarus's last space-opera themed game. Thise time, we're going back in time to the days of knights and castles. Only clix that would feel at home in a medieval setting will be used (though to broaden the choices a bit, sorcery will be acceptable).

"...a knight on the town! Get it? Knight?" the jester finished. There was a smattering of polite chuckling. Bron gave a very little smile and waved her off. She was, admittedly, one of the worst jesters he had ever seen, but he had to say that she did look well in that skin-tight outfit. But the servants had finished clearing off the meal and now it was time for more serious business. He looked at those sitting around the table.
First there were his own men. Ian Nottingham, a young and ambitious noble. Perhaps a bit too ambitious, but he was no threat yet. Nor would he grow to be. Bron was watching him closely and he would be dealt with before that time came.
Kraven, his royal huntsman, a mis-named man if ever there was one, for he knew few men bolder. But his passion was hunting, not politics and so Bron found him useful to keep around.
Skurge was also very useful. The Lord High Executioner. The man claimed to come from the land of the gods of the distant Northmen, and for all Bron knew, he could be telling the truth. His strength certainly seemed superhuman. Skurge had delusions of power himself, but while he thought himself cunning, any thoughts he had were as transparent as glass. He was easily managed.
Then there was his Captain of the Guards, called Harpoon for the magical spears he wielded. The man was good at his job and kept order well enough without getting above himself.
They were a dangerous group, and he was the most dangerous of all. And yet, the rebels were getting bolder. Try as he might to crush them, for every cell he slaughtered another group would rise elsewhere. That was the reason the others were here. Nu'bia was a representative from an island of warrior women. If he could join their power to his, his military might would be irresistable. And even if she could not bring her sisters to his side, her own sword was formidable on its own. Plus, she was comely and a warlord needed heirs if he was to found a dynasty...
Finally was the most dangerous man of all, if the rumors were to be believed. Ra's al-Ghul, guildmaster of the shadowy League of Assassins. If anyone could locate the head of this rebellion - and sever it - it was him. If the rumors were to be believed. And if so, it would be an acquaintance worth cultivating. If for no other reason than so that he could keep a closer eye on the man.
"M'lord," a lackey tremulously poked his head in the door.
"This had best be important, Gilbert," Bron said menacingly.
"M'lord, it is the wizard, Faust," the man stuttered. "He requests an audience. He says it's urgent."
"Is it really?" Bron sighed. "Best show him in then." Employing a court wizard had proved to be a mixed blessing. His spells were handy, but like all wizards, he had an overly high opinion of himself.
"M'lord Bron," Felix Faust said, pushing past Gilbert. "It is the rebels."
"Yes, Faust, that is why I am having this little conference."
"I have seen in my scrying bowl. The leaders, they are no mere rabble. Their powers may rival your own, and they are planning a final attack to end your power once and for all."
"Is that so? Well, we shall have to arrange a welcoming party then. My lords, my lady, would you care to join me?" It was not a question.
Second, I was thinking we were having a 'loose' interpretation of midevil. No guns of course but some of the figures I thought about included simple costumed guys like Midnight, shape changers like Changeling besides archers, sword wielders, mages and demons...before I introduce those on my team I want to be sure we're on the same page.
Bron is most definitely bad. Wicked. Evil to the core. Ian I don't know so well, but he fights Witchblade (though I think they may have something of that Batman/Catwoman thing going). Whoclix lists him as neutral.
If you can justify your picks, go for it. If we've got sorcerors, why not characters with magic powers. Shape shifters are quite popular in the fantasy genre.
Outside the dwelling of Lord Ra's al-Ghul. The Black Knight moves slowly onward. "We'll need as much luck as we can muster here, my friends."
"I do not believe in luck. Luck is what we make, Knight," Mystique says, altering her shape to a young maidens.
"You are looking quite lovely today, Mystique. It is a pleasure knowing someone who is as intelligent as lovely," Blue Devil says to deaf ears.
"Really, Devil, will you never learn?. Play at your own risk," Katana says holding a blade playing beside his neck.
"This is quite a risk we're taking, you're right Knight. I hope we're all up for it," Arsenal states half out of concern and half with bravado. HE certainly is up for it.
"10 of them, 10 of us. Seems a good match," Dr. Midnight notes clinically.
The Huntress aims her crossbow at one of them through the window, "I could take one of them down with such ease."
Shaman holds her arm down, "...And alert them, we dare not risk it."
Blade stands next to Dr. Fate keeping quietly to himself while holding, almost caressing, his weaponry.
"It is time, my friends," Fate says in a muffled tone, "Ra's al-Ghul's dynasty must fall and we must be the instrument of that fall." and his words serve to inspire his whole group.

Wow. I'm thinking I really ought to have taken a couple of fliers here. I was concentrating so much on theme, I kind of ignored some of the rules of decent team building. Oh, and don't forget to change Shaman's positioning. Well, here goes.

"Rabble," Bron said dismissively. "One knight on a flying steed and a demon of sorts. The rest? Laughable. A couple of archers, a woman with a sword. A Moor. A couple of hedge wizards."
"I do not know the other, my lord," Faust said, "but Doctor Fate is no hedge wizard. His powers are formidible."
"And why do I keep a wizard in my service if not to deal with other wizards," Bron said. "He is yours. Handle him. Now let's move. Gilbert, you're with me."
"Me, m'lord?" the lackey gulped.
"Are you deaf now, man?" He cuffed him on the side of the head and then shoved him forward with no little force. "Yes you. Now move!"

Double check me, I could be missing something, but I think Nu'bia's still just out of Arsenal's range. From Row S, 8 squares is Row K, and Nu'bia's one row farther back in Row J. Besides which, I think the Line of Fire would go a bit through the stealthed Kraven's square in K16.
Checking as we speak. And you're right...can't reach Nubia. So Arsenal passes.
