you could probably down grade Pyro and Destiny to E and R respectively...allowing 10 points for another feat like Nanobots, Armor piercing, etc.
OR downgrade simply Avalanche to R if you only care for his Barrier, scrap Destiny all together to put in R Scarlet Witch, allow you a better protected PC via Stealth, as well as better stats for another secondary attacker with 10 range. Also allows you to block line of fire against enemies.
As much as Magneto/barrier/inspiring command teams make my heart tingle, three barrier figures is a little overkill. Drop Magma and downgrade Pyro and Destiny to fit in a Rookie AW Quicksilver, so you can have a decent secondary attacker to take out your opponents support figures. Either that or V Mystique to perplex your damage values, but I'd prefer Quicksilver.
U Magneto 144 + IC 15
E Pyro 35
V Avalanche 32
R Quicksilver 52
R Destiny 20
Total 298
Werle's idea of Quicksilver was something that I had in mind as well, but if I were to sacrifice something it would be avalanche's points not Pyro. V Pyro has a 9 attack value which would be your second highest attack. Where has Avalanche V has an 8, which most of your other characters would have anyways. Not sure how much you'd want Pulse Wave considering your tactics is to keep Avalanche based to Magneto at some point to get mini-willpower.
Having said that this is my change on Werle's ideas:
U Magneto 144 + Inspiring Command 15
V Pyro 42
E Avalanche 26
R Quicksilver 52
R Destiny 20
299 points This way you have one character with a 9 attack value as a secondary attacker and 2 characters with 8 attack values as opposed to 3 characters with an attack value of 8.
E Avalanche is a fig that's neither here nor there - he lacks the Rookie's cheapness and the Veteran's Pulse Wave - and Pulse Wave is a handy power to have availible, even if you are not planning to use it. Options is always nice, and it can be sweet to TK avalanche out to do a massive Pulse Wave attack.
But, if you are saving on points, why not go all the way to the R Avalanche? That leaves 8 points free, which is just enough for a Protected on Magneto...

That's what I mentioned from the start, allowing a substitution over Destiny for Scarlet Witch. I mean, Magma isn't a bad character to put aside, she can certainly deal quite the punch for 40 points. So I don't necessarily see the need for Quicksilver, but there are many ways to build this team as well. And Protected would indefinitely be an excellent choice as well.

My main concern was making sure both barrier figures had an 8 range, but I agree that having Pyro's 9AV would probably be better. The 8AV's worry me too, but I was just relying on Destiny to swing things in the team's favor.
So long as Magneto is taxiing Avalanche downgrading would probably work.
