The main character I want to use for my team is xplosion storm veteran. What other types of characters should I use with her? (such as more high-ranged chars or good close combat chars, etc)

or even specific characters that she'd be good partnered up with?

Offensively, she can handle herself quite well; however, she could use some Defensive help, as she is rather fragile for her point cost.

In order to increase her Defensive potential, you could couple her with U. Warlock and have them stand next to each other--his Defend coupled with her ES/D grants her a 19 Defense from Range, and a 20 if she is standing on Hindering Terrain.

Force Field isn't a bad idea, but only if you have some extra points to spend; otherwise it's just too expensive.

Also, keeping Longshot close would be a solid choice, as not only can he use his Probability Control to reroll her misses, but he can also tie-up your opponent incredibly well under the new Sinister Rules.

One other quick idea is to have Storm carry a cheap X-Men "click battery" so that she can Push without worry, as her stats drop like a rock once she is off of her first click.

Psylocke (Xplosion I think, not the one from AW) has enhancement for most of her dial and would make a good battery and boost for Storm.
You could stick trick shot on her and put Black Panther in hindering in front of her and use her as a turret from there. Plus, nice theme since they're getting married in comics shortly.

Lol... it is a character that uses the Titans TA or the X-men TA to heal your other characters. Like Wolverine with Auto-regen is a GREAT clix-battery.

I think the OWAW Wolverine would be a good support peice to go beside Storm. He has charge with BCF, and he makes a good click battery to boot. Also take a look at Warpath for CC support and click battery. But that's just my humble opinion.

Doesn't wolverine only regenerate himself though? And how does the x-men team ability work? DO you give the character another action the next turn for a pushing click and then increase the adjacent character's health by 1, or is it just one move and you give the pushing click to use the ability?

Well durr to me, with all the hype and excitement of the new Superman movie I've got big blue on the brain. Yes, I meant DoFP, which was a pretty cool storyline by the by.

You would be correct sir. This is the words, and I quote:

"At the beginning of an action in which two friendly members of this team are adjacent to each other, you may give one of those characters a power action and deal 1 pushing damage to it. This damage may not be reduced by Willpower or any power that reduces damage, nor can it be dealt to another figure. The other adjacent, friendly character is healed of 1 damage."
It's just another thing to appreciate about making an X-Men team. I agree that Storm is one of my favorite female characters and I'm hoping to see an more powerful incarnation of her some time soon, a click somewhere in the 90-100 point range. I think mixing Xplosion Storm with some of Danger Room Storm would be a cool click IMHO.
It has to be a click that makes you say, "Don't make her angry, you wouldn't like her when she's angry."
