I know this isn't exactly resent, but what the heck.

So I finally decided to pick this up after hearing alot about it and it has left me with just one question, who in the world is bloodwynd?

I had heard that Martian Manhunter was in the book but he was nowhere to be seen.

Or perhaps my "where" and "who" anwser each other?

Bloodwyn was Martian Manhunter. I don't recall the reason why though.

Ok, Bloodwyn is a real character. At the end of Breakdowns a massive crossover event that started with the shooting of Maxwell Lord, the Justice League was put under UN control, and the result was a new era for the JLA with the leadership of Superman. Because Superman took over leadership of the team Martian manhunter took an abscence of leave to get in touch with himself. He was on his way to his cabin when he saw Bloodwyn writhing in pain on the ground, he went to help him out and was caught up with Bloodwyn with a fight from within himself from a being know as Rot. The gem of Bloodwyn was placed on MM's chest and MM took the guise of Bloodwyn until Doomsday nearly destroyed the team. There was an awesome 4 part story line (72-75) that dealt with Dr Destiny that led up to Blue Beetle coming out of a coma and revealing MM's duplicity(against his will). in issues 76-77 the team entered the gem on MM's chest and encountered Bloodwyn imprisioned in his own gem by the new Weaponsmaster and Rot. They freed Bloodwyn and defeated Rot and the weaponmaster. Bloodwyn stayed on as a member of the new JLA and MM took a much needed restl. Right now Bloodwyn is in character limbo IIRC.

This all happened between the issues of #'s 68 - 77 of JLA's 2nd series.

I remember they fought a weird evil version of the JLA.
