So in the review thread for this week, I made the following comment about the changes to the roster that the X-Men comic has endured, since Grant Morrison's departure:

Anywa, I just got doen flipping through my Wizard #178, on on page 102, they announce the new line up!

Now, Sabretooth is my all-time favorite villain. So imagine my surprise when it's announced that he will be a part of the new team of X-Men, which features the following:

Rogue
Mystique
Cannonball
Cable
Iceman
but in the accompanying ppic, it also shows Northstar & Aurora.

So yeah, I've had a bit of a change of heart. Problem is though, that I've not read anything when Sabretooth was a member of X-Force (or was it X-Factor), and as I said, I like him as a villain. So it's a bit of a let down, for the guy whose desire to murder is so deep rooted, that he couldn't escape it before; to join the team. It's also kind of funny that Sabretooth is a member, since the last time we saw him (to the best of my knowledge) was when The new Brotherhood, led by Exodus, attacked the mansion. IIRC Wolvie scattered him all over the school grounds.

One thing that worries me is the writer, taking over. Now I don't read Lucifer or Hellblazer, so I can't comment on that. But my only exposure to Mike Carey's writing was the Ultimate X-Men/Fantastic Four 2 issue series...and I don't remember that being worth the paper it was printed on.

The Uncanny roster looks like the better of the two to me

Two great writers; two more titles for my pull list. Couldn't be happier.

I keep buying it, but Astonishing just isn't working out for me.

Yeah, the Uncanny team seems cool, though I like the team they are right now....Also, I'm curious to see how the team(current) breaks up. I'm just glad Nightcrawler is still on the team.

So are there three separate X-Men teams now, or is it four with the New X-Men?

X-Men, Uncanny, Astonishing, and New X-Men (though I don't read this, so I'm not sure if they're a team or another version of the New Mutants).

I think "New " is New Mutants, renamed.
