Wait, I'm confused. Namor gave Nitro the pills to make his powers stronger, and Nitro blows up Samford, along with Namorita andthe New Warriors. I thought that he wanted to kill Wolverine, not Nitro, but I am probably wrong
Nitro's pills came from a pharmaceutical company not from Namor. Anyway, I think you're on to something here. If you remember the New Avengers Illuminati special, Stark was trying to predict the future to the rest of the Illuminati members. He said that a young/inexperienced superhero will make a mistake and cause death and destruction. And then Namor said that he didn't care because either way the planet will again belong to the atlanteans.
A lot of people were talking about the New Avengers Illuminati special how it was weird that Stark's prediction was exactly what happened in Stamford. Do you think Namor had something to do with the Stamford incident just to get revenge on the Illuminati for the Hulk exile decision or just to spite Stark? Going with this, Namor could probably have supplied Nitro with the Mutant Growth Hormone (MGH)

I think Stark, who owns various medical companies, could've supplied the drug. Now, knowing what Namor had said, Stark would want Namor to feel the pain of the USA, so, he took the opportunity to use the hormone stuff on Nitro, setting up the whole Stamford incident, killing Namorita so as to get Namor involved, thinking Namor would just outright kill Nitro if at all. This also explains how Nitro was left to go on his own merry way.
Some people forget two things about Stark. One, he has killed a few times before, and two, Stark helped found SHEILD. He was the one who recommended Fury to lead that group, actually. So, it all figures in quite nice.
BTW, was that Namor in Civil War disguised as a fireman?
I believe that was just another (or the same) sleeper agent for Atlantis. Looked like he had blue skin, Namor has white skin.
"Come on Hulk! Where's the old boasting? The battle cries? Why aren't you bellowing about how you're 'the strongest one there is'? Could it be because... you know it's not true?"
"No. Because it's just too obvious."

Yeah, he was a sleeper agent. The question is, what happened to his wife?
Anyway, I'm thinking that the conspiracy goes above Tony. I can't help but see him as being a pawn in all of this. Like someone took something he believed in, and used it to manipulate him.

Agreed. Tony is a jerk, but he's not evil. He's smart, but I doubt he's the mastermind behind all this. He's the charismatic frontman for something more. SHIELD starts getting super villians out of jail to fight their battles? C'mon, that's not a Tony style move. I doubt he even knows about that.
The question is, are we looking at a subtle mind control thing going on here or are we just looking at some seriously corrupt politics? So far the story has suggested the latter, but this is a comic story, so the former could be right around the corner, with all of the politics being a red herring.
No question in my mind that the heroes fighting are not being infulenced my mind control, but whomever set all this up, may be. Maybe even Tony. I guess we'll just see.

I'm actually thinking an Emperor Palpatine type manipulation. Manipulate events over a stretch, to gain a certain outcome. But you do it in steps, so as not to make it so obvious. A, leads to B, leads to C, which culminates in the Registration Act and thus sends all the heroes into conflict with one another.
Someone has a lot to gain here, if those identites landed on their lap. So you set things up along the way:
The breakout at the Raft, the whole Secret War fiasco, haveing the T-Bolts fight the Avengers, and the Stamford incident. I'm sure there's more, that can be looked at.
Edit: I think the Mind Control angle would be an easy cop ouot, but having everyone manipulated to perform their duties and a grander scheme would make much more sense.

well, we do know that after teh break out on the Raft, IM pointed out that several of the inmates there that escaped had been reported dead, some for years. Yet, there they were.

Based on what we've seen in "Thunderbolts", Tony definitely would know about this (esp. since there's no way that Hank and Reed would be involved and Tony not know what his friends are doing).
