I may play heroclix, but I am a comic book fan most of all, so I enjoy hearing what others think about comics on this site.
As of recently I have read the new run of X-Factor by Peter David. I am surprised by how good it is, the jokes remind me of his run on captain marvel where we get the same running gags threw out the book. The characters are the best characters I have read in awhile, they each are unique and different and get enough time to show them interact with each other.
The art amazes me, nowadays we get artists like Finch who does all these flashy pages where characters are ripped and their body is covering each pannel, the splash page is huge. The artist for X- Factor is more basic and shows each action takes place. It helps to move the story along and see how each characters react.
My surprise book of the year. Am I alone hereor do more of you guys enjoy this book?

I have just read the last two issues, but like you said, the jokes are great. And they seem to really get into Jamie's head. I'm not a fan of the art though, but the dialouge makes up for it. Definetly worth picking up!

Yeah, me too. i loved the second verson of X Factor. The characters were really given depth and the stories were pretty good.
You should check out Peter Davids work on the Hulk when he was part of the Panthoen. Very nice work. He also did a Star Trak book about Q that was very good. High Q I think.
The selfish infect us all with sad, vulgar, sexual references and a constant barage of innapropriate innuendo. A pity to be subjected to this against our wills, but to allow it into our lives with open arms shames us all
PAD's done a lot of Star Trek books...and I do mean A LOT. Another thing he's writing right now that's pretty good is Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man...though the last arc involving Hobgoblin 2211 and an alternate timeline Uncle Ben was kinda iffy.

I didn't really enjoy his Spider Man book, the other or whatever it was called seemed kinda lame, then after that he went on to do some other arcs, but they weren't that great. I like his Hulk and even when he came back to doing the Hulk. He had such a great issue, the one about the lady that was killed and her ghost went to Bruce Banner to avenge her.
And of course I love his captain marvel. I may be the only one as that book was cancelled early on.
...I'm about the biggest X-Factor fan in all of HCRealms!! Save for about 4 issues I have the whole 1st series run (1-149), the "-1 Flashback" issue, the "Factor X" AoA issues and about half of the annuals...
...so for sure I have all the issues of the new series and lovin' it all, Jamie and Guido's chemistry=priceless, Layla's "knowing things"=mysteriously funny, Monet's sexiness and sarcasticness=diggin' it....haven't warmed up to Siryn and Rictor yet...and save for Rahne's "mental bond to Havok" of the first series, I was never a big fan of her. I hope Quicksiver sticks around for a few issues, cause it was awesome when added to the Jamie-Guido-Pietro "comedy-triangle" of the first series. The last few pages of dialogue in the latest series issue 9...well let's just say, I haven't been this excited about reading X-Factor since we were "introduced to the all-new, all-different team" of issue 71 of the first run!
Also, I have a decent 400pt X-Factor (All-New, All-Different team of the ninties)...all I WANT IS MY STRONG GUY clix!!!!! But it's ok, I know of a guy who liked to do mods, so I begged him to make one and I used U Black King's dial to represent him...pretty good job, I might add. I'll try to post pics one day...

DAMN...is it ever impressive when you display the entire KC line-up!!!
i just came home from a 500 point tourney using x-factor!
my team was
V quicksilver w/ICWO, swingline, armor piercing, heightened reflexes, lucky break and homing device
U forge w/ICWO
V havok w/ ICWO
V polaris
E wolfsbane
E multiple man
E multiple man
and a
V paramedic (val cooper)
Heheh....I once used a Paramedic as a Val Cooper "stand-in" too, unfortuneatly, not many ppl got the connection. Ok, now I want a Strong Guy clix, Val Cooper pog AND (to justify Guido as a "cosmic character" slot for Supernova) how about a Lila Cheney pog???

Peter David writes Madrox as such an interesting character. this is my first time ever really reading about him, has previous X-books wrote Madrox this interesting before.

A pog with 12 move and phasing!!! That would rock!
