I don't know if the introduction of Ultimate Miles Warren - 616's Jackal - is meant to be a red herring on all of this or not, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's up to his old cloning games and got Peter's DNA from hanging out at the Parker house.

In fairness, there was a "mini-Clone Saga" long before the 1990's fiasco where we had a clone of Peter, a clone of Miles and a clone of Gwen running around and that wasn't a half-bad story and I'm thinking this one has some potential as well...

...now if only I could stop getting the creeps from the female clone of Peter (s/he was obviously freaked by it as well, at least. ).

The Spider-female reminds me of Kaine.

I'm extremely curious, how is she like Kaine at all? Maybe with knowing more then Peter aspect, but Kaine seemed a lot more depressing to me. And when it comes to Ultimate Spider-Man you can fill entire countries with people who are more in the loop then him.

It's mostly the hair, and the slightly protective attitude...contrasting with the
fact she actually slapped him around.
And it's the Ultimate Clone Saga.
Even if it twists completely differently, there are likely to be similarities
that hint at the original arc, which makes me think of things that as you
pointed out, probably aren't there.

Well alright, that's fair enough. I'm hoping she'll be a little different from Kaine myself, but that's only because I wasn't a huge fan of him in general.
