Actually he should be able to....He doesn't start with the damage reducers.
That doesn't matter. The prerequisite is that the figure has no damage reducing powers so if even one click has a damage reducing power the figure can't be assigned Force Field. In the same way Nanobots requires the figure to have a Damage Value no higher than 2, so as long as at least one click has a DaV of 2 or less, the figure can be assigned Nanobots.

I don't want to talk to you no more, you empty headed animal food trough wiper. I fart in your general direction. Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries....now go away or I shall taunt you a second time.
Are you sure about that? To my understanding, it cannot be used until you do 2 damge or less. Otherwise, it sits inactive until you meet the requiste.
I think you misunderstand me, I'm only talking about assigning the feat, not using it. You are correct that feats can only be used when the prerequisites are showing on the figures dial, but to be assigned a feat, the figure only needs one click where it meets the prerequisites (and that would normally be the only click on which it could use that feat).

[Clarification] In the case of Force Field, the reqirement is that the figure can have NO damage reducing powers, so if the figure has even one click with a damage reducing power, then it does not have "no damage reducing powers" [if the figure has one or more damage reducing powers, it can't meet the requirment to have "no damage reducing powers", right?] and it is not eligible to be assigned Force Field. To use Force Field, on the other hand, the figure would have to be on a click with one of the prerequisite powers showing.[/Clarification]

Reason: Clarification (not that I actually think its going to help but...)

I think Force Field is an exception to the normal rules, since it says "choose a character without a power that reduces damage."
That could be considered an additional prerequisite.

Thele (and BootofTesla, of course) have it -- it's not an issue of the figure meeting the prerequisite eventually vs. on its first click -- it's an issue with the wording on the Force Field card itself.
