I am playing a friendly game tonight and thought I would play characters I have never used before. The team I made us is as follows*:
V Havok
V Domino
E Blade
E Taskmaster
E Jean Grey
E Polaris
total - 297 pts
So what do you guys think. Are there any strategies that would be useful?
I was thinking of moving Taskmaster into stealth and using his range and 11 AV to be a pain, maybe TK'ing Polaris in base to make up for her 0 range but getting the chance to use the 4 DV. Also, Domino in stealth, but within 10 squares of the action would also be a pain to my opponent because of PB.
Any thoughts?
*(Sorry - I can't remember the points or sets they are from)
Nope, E Taskmaster is 58 points. So out of your list, only E Polaris is more expensive than Tasky.
A good person to keep next to Taskmaster would be V Domino. She can PC any attack on Tasky, her Super Senses allow her a chance to evade any attack that gets Masterminded her way and if she takes a hit, her stats don't drop too quickly.
Not sure which Blade you're playing -- I'll assume it's the Mutant Mayhem version -- but he is another candidate for Mastermind fodder, since he's got Regen.
You should definitely TK Polaris -- have her grab a heavy object and go after your opponent... in a 300 point environment, she may be able to wipe someone off the board with a 6 damage hit (7 if you have soda machine). Make sure that Domino can see that to PC her hit!

Except that Super Senses doesn't activate against Mastermind damage: Super Senses is rolled to see if the attack actually hits, but you can only Mastermind damage after accepting that it is a hit.
Impervious, on the other hand, does work against Mastermind damage. The only problem is that characters with Imperv are typically more expenseive.

You are correct, sir! Good catch -- I should have checked the FAQ before I posted!
Unfortunately for this team, he can't Mastermind to his one Invulnerable character, because she's more points than Tasky.
Warpath (for 2 pts less) has a couple clicks of Charge to help get him into the battle (as well as some Leap/Climb to help get him out of the battle).
You are going to need to use TK to move everyone on your team, and really won't have it to finesse Polaris into position.
Also, saving you 2 more pts, gives you room for a 5 pt feat. I would probably play Running Start on Domino so you can safely get your PC piece where you need it.

I did consider taking 2 characters out and using Scarlet Spider instead to get the mobility but decided against it seeing as the point of this team was to use characters i have never used before.
I'll take a look in my box and see is any characters better fit in this team. I could always remove Blade and use V. Archangel from DR (I think he's 40 points).

Angel is 50 pts. And, even though IMO, I do not consider him to be a good attacker, he would help solve your mobility issue AND he is hard to hit at range.
I would keep Blade in, take out Polaris and use the extra pts for a feat or two OR upgrade Jean so you have Support on your side (you can always X-men her back up to her Support clicks if you need to. Or sub in Vet Marvel Girl from the Danger Room set (if you haven't played it yet).
