I am sure this has probably been asked and aswered, but with Power dampening field is it just the damage without modifiers? Example: If I have 3 damage with ranged combat expert, is my damage still 5 on a ranged attack? Thanks alot!

No the damage cannot exceed three. Damage can only go above three by rolling a critical hit or using an object.

A rule of thumb for PDF: Similar to the rule of 3, if the DV is increased above 3, it's capped. If the Damage DEALT goes up above 3, it's fine (ie: Ground Zero, Critical hits, Knockback dmg, etc)

And in case Captain Castle's post didn't clarify this enough: Damage Value cannot go above 3, but Crit hits and Objects add to Damage Dealt.

Obviously, everyone in this thread has been spot on with the rules. I was just worried that the second sentence of the above post might confuse some people as to the "why."
