Can you throw an object while making a Hypersonic Option 1 attack?

Per Danger Room Rules:

Using Object in a Ranged Combat Attack.

-To throw and object, give the character a ranged combat action...

From the Danger Room PAC:

Give this character a power action. (stuff) During its move, this character can as a free action make one close combat or ranged combat attack.

Now, it seems that you can make a ranged attack, not make a ranged combat action, thus you can't throw an object while making a Hypersonic attack?

That's right. You can't throw an object using HSS1 because that power grants you a close combat ATTACK and throwing an object is a close combat ACTION.

that's correct. i once played a guy who wanted to use the old superman le with 0 range and all that super strength with rip it up to run in, rip up an object, throw it, and run away, but alas his idea was shot down.
