Actually, I'm pretty sure the Sentinel doesn't count as a "set", but an LE.
I'm not so sure about the LE status. It could be that way, but I've never heard of that being the case. The other thing worth noting however, as someone pointed out to me, is that the DoFP set figs have the Danger Room set symbol. Now, this has never happened before that I know of, but wouldn't it be the case that the day Danger Room became tourney legal, DoFP did as well since they are, according to their set symbol on the dials, part of the same set? I know DoFP was not even released at the time that DR became tourney legal, but there is nothing in the rules that says that if a set is released in waves, that each part of the set is legal only after 2 wks of the street date. The other part I'd like to add to this point is that LE which belong to a specific set are legal as soon as you win them. Which could be taken as a 'wave' type release for the set.
Where is that rule located? I first heard about it on Sunday, but didn't see it in the Comprehensive Tournament Rules document on the WK site when I got home.
Here is the appropriate section:

All WizKids figures are considered tournament legal provided that they meet the following criteria:
• The figure is produced by WizKids.
• The figure is correct for the base.
• The figure’s collector’s number on the base matches the collector’s number on the combat dial.
• The figure is original (figures may be painted and modeled as players choose, but other players must be able to identify each figure without difficulty). • The figure was released at least two weeks prior to the tournament date. Sealed and draft format tournaments and LE figures (see section 5.9b) are an exception to this rule.
• The figure is not a promotional, demo, proxy, preview, or other invalid figure as defined by WizKids.
• The figure has not been retired from play in the tournament’s format. A complete list of retired figures for each game is available in the game-specific tournament rules.
WizKids metal figures whose collector’s number match on both their bases and combat dials are tournament legal. No more than one of each Unique figure (as defined in the game rules) may be included in a single army, although an army can include as many different Unique figures as a player wishes and the game rules allow.
The highlighted section is the appropriate one. Note also that it does not mention anything about the set - it says the figure has to be released at least two weeks prior to the tournament. The DoFP set was released on November 29th, so you have to wait until December 13th in order to play the figures in official tournaments.
Oh, by the way that particular document is not linked from the "How to play" section. Instead, it can be found in the "Rules for all games" section at wizkidsgames.com - beware though that the version currently there is at least 1 year out of date, but as far as I know the information I quoted still applies.
And no, none of the DoFP figures are Limited Editions - Limited Edition figures all have Bronze colored rings, which none of the DoFP figs have (at least mine don't...).
Well, I'm bored, so I spend a lot of time here right now.

Besides, if they were considered LEs then they would also be considered 'unique' and then would ruin the popular concept of playing multiples of them.

Hey, I don't discriminate - I correct anyone who makes incorrect statements, and always bring proof.
You just happen to be very good at making incorrect statements...

A-ha! Thanks. I had originally thought the figures were legal as they were a 2006 Collector's Set, though that may not be the case either since the box is labelled as an "Action Pack"
