Apocalypse gave it back to him. Not sure if it was when/because he made Wlvie Death. When it comes to that story, it's like the last season of X-Files. Just pretend it never happened.

Yeah... I'm a bit sketchy on the details, but if I recall correctly Wolvie was forced to battle Sabertooth (who had recently been enhanced with Adamantium himself to make him even more badass). When wolvie won, Apocalypse declared him the new Death, sucked the Adamantium out of Sabertooth and pumped it into Wolvie...

I thought Wolverine got it from Apoc when he sucked that Adamantium out of Cyber's epidermis

That was the first time he got his adamantium back, and that didn't last very long

He managed to override the process and violently expelled the adamantium during the bonding process from every pore in his body with rather spectacular results.

And technically that was a plot by Genesis, not Apocalypse This was also the event that led to Wolverine's "degeneration" and gave us the feral, bandana wearing Wolverine of Mutant Mayhem.

Two other things to point out.

One, the Adamantium from Cyber was a lower grade then what Sabertooth had, and lower then what Wolvie originally had.

Two, people forget, Sabertooth was later given more adamantium, after Wolvie recieved his. Writters forget that often.

I remember reading (around that time) an interview with CC and how he was against it and how he'd brought back the adamantium, just by putting it in Sabertooth instead.
