I really enjoyed JLA. I particuarly liked that Hal alludes to Roy as a potential successor. Can you immagine Roy as Red Lantern? (It would sound cool if it wasn't a resturant.)
I'm going to toss this idea out there (and, keep in mind, I haven't read the comic yet): What if Grundy is a robot, too?

a robot grundy is one of those ideas that could be incredibly lame or amazingly cool. it just needs the right writer. on the other hand, the name grundy-bot is 100% awesome.
Well, I know I wasn't mocking you. If I was, I'd of included something like the picture of Mister Mind you have on the front of your underwear with the words "Love Worm" written just below the pic.
In the course of this story Grundy as a robot would make no sense as he wants to join the cult of the immortals or saomething and take Ivos immortality away from him which a robot would have no use for. But it would make sense that now that he is smart he dosent want to die and lose it again

I didn't pick it up since it was a bit pricey for a holiday book, but the last page of the Infinite Christmas Special was probably the funniest last page I've seen in a long while.
I picked up the book since it was a nice change to see some heartwarming stories after all the Crisis stuff. First thing that I noticed was that the title was changed from Infinite Christmas (used in all the solicits and the DC webpage) to Infinite Holiday. I guess the 'War on Christmas' hit the DCU. It's not really a big deal but it does take away from the Identity Crisis, Infinite Crisis, Infinite Christmas progression they had going there.
The book's 80 pages and has 7 stories so it makes up for the price somewhat.
The stories I liked were Green Lantern confronting Hector Hammond who's creepy as ever, trying to steal memories of Hal's Christmases; the Shadowpact saving Santa from the terrorists of the Anti-Christmas League; Flash going up against someone who's a lot like Dylan from the Manhunter series; and a Silver Age style of story where Superman tries to take on the role of Santa after the Daily Planet recieves a 'Yes Virginia' type of letter. And yeah, the last couple of pages of that one are priceless.
The okay stories were Supergirl experiencing her first Christmas and trying to spread Christmas cheer like Clark does, and a Batwoman Chanukkah story. The Batwoman story would likely have been a lot better if they waited for her to have more than just a handful of guest appearances so far, it lacks some of the emotional impact when we don't really know or care about the character. But I guess the entire book is about promoting the new titles and characters.
The story I liked the least was the Trials of Shazam one. It takes place in the middle of the current series (which I'm waiting to get in trade so I haven't been reading it) and doesn't have any of the Marvel Family characters, just the gods. So I didn't really understand what was going on between the good and evil gods (or even what their current role on Earth is other than to offer trials to Freddy), and I didn't realize who Sabina was (or at least that she's a bigger character than some of the other evil guys) until part way through. But maybe someone who's reading the series would like this better.

Bats:"For God's sake, man. Look at yourself. What are you doing here."
Supes: "Restoring a child's sense of wonder? Teaching him that the world can be a magical place."
Bats: "Yeah, well, my parents taught me a different lesson..lying in the alley...twitching"
