Still unkown, but supposedly one or all of them (along with Red Tornado) saw "something" in the rift Alexander Luthor created that is pretty important to the fate of the Universe. Supposedly Lady Styx wants to use that knowledge for destructive purposes.
Still no backstory on Lady Styx (unless it's in "Mystery in Space").
We're getting very good info on Lady Styx from the following comics. If you get them all, then you know EXACTLY as much as anyone else.

Green Lantern Corps
Mystery in Space
and especially...
OMEGA MEN.
OM is the one that is REALLY going into what she's about (and where you finally see her). Apparently, she's converting many of the races in the Vega System, most notably the Spider Guild, into her religion. It seems to be based mostly on herself as being some kind of harbinger of Oblivion, which is not seen as a bad thing, but as a release.
At least that's what I think. Like I said, no one's really sure yet.

Of course being there seems to be only two of us reading "Omega Men" that may not have been the best place for them to flesh out a possibly major character.
(And if it wasn't for the fact that OM is a limited series I'd be verging on dropping it; it's been pretty lousy so far and I'm still trying to figure out if that's a new Doc - being the old one got off'ed by a Durland - or an Infinite Crisis change or what).
"Nobody important? That's amazing. You know, in 900 years of traveling time and space I've never met someone who wasn't important."

Agreed, there are only two of us...LOL.
But I like it. I hate the art, but I find that the story is good enough to pull the art along.
I think it's a new Doc, BTW. Everyone else seems to be normal character-mode, so to me that rules out an IC change. Doc could have easily been remade kinda the same. But, what I really like is Ryand'r. Man, he got cool, huh? Well, that and Elu... but who doesn't like Elu?

Wow, I gotta agree with Rokk, that really sucks that they put that much info out on an important character, but kept it all in a book that nobody buys.
Thanks for sharing it, though!!!

Did anyone read Manhunter? It had Blue Beetle (Ted Kord?) on the cover, and I didn't want to pick it up if it was just a tease.
Let me answer that one for you:
PICK UP THE DANG BOOK!
Seriously.
Blue Beetle makes an appearance (with his flying BeetleCraft) and it looks like he's coming to help Wonder Woman in the court room.
Do not read my synopsis after this. Please buy the book. It needs all the help it can get.
Manhunter #27 (8 of 10) Kate gives a crash course to Diana about how to appear in public. Kate pisses off the judge but gets her to make a mistake about allowing statements in court. Mark Shaw makes some (new?) pals with the Knights of the Order of St. Dumas. And Ms. Cameron Chase brings Dylan along (with Chinese Food!) to Gotham on the hunt for Dr. Trapp. At the end, a Beetlecraft hovers while the media has pinned Kate and Diana on the courtsteps. A ladder drops and THE BLUE BEETLE drops down and asks if he can be of service. What I like about this title is that you don't get Kate in Superhero mode all the time. It's a good balance between the ego/alterego. And in a sense, she's being a superhero at the same time in defending wonder woman in a criminal prosecution. And the tie-ins with Shaw and Chase....just a superb book. This issue was all setup for the case battle ahead but it flowed.
Aquaman #47 (6 of 10) Part 2 of the classic Aquaman story. It seemed better than the first part, last issue, but why go this route inbetween trying to establish the new Arthur Curry is beyond me. King Shark is brought in and the Shark God is brought up in conversation as well as a Coral Creature that will come to light if a prophecy passes. It just seemed out of place Decent, but out of place.
Teen Titans #42 (6 of 10) A self contained issue about Kid Devil and his origin. Nice story all in all but for Johns, the dialogue seemed kind of forced. The first time I've ever said that about a Johns issue. And to that I say no one is "ON" all the time. Neron owns Kid Devil at age 20. That's the important plot point out of all this.
Batman #661 (4 of 10) I'm not enjoying this Grotesk storyline. 2 new villian characters , Johnny Kareoke- the asian crooning hitman and Perun, the Russian Gangster, both kill each other trying to get the I-gore device from Grotesk. He's put them all, with Batman, in a trap. Batman beats the carp out of Grotesk, his face falls away into a morbid mess, and he gets away. Why bring 2 villians in and kill them 3 issues later? To make Grotesk that much more of a villian? Lucky I buy this no matter what.
Which brings us to the superbly written Bat-title right now.......
Detective #827 (10 of 10) Dini gets it. The art is great. And The Ventriloquist is back!!!!!!!!! But Wesker's dead???? Then why is Scarface talking trash to the Dark Knight? A bunch of muscle is showing up at the Penguin's club so, in order to track Scarface, Bats adopts his Lefty disguise (since Matches was killed by......Scarface) to infiltrate them. We see Scarface sitting on Wesker's lap in the shadows. And then a blonde hottie a.k.a Sugar pushes Wesker's dead body onto the ground and starts up with Scarface. She's "his" Sugar. And it's a trap. Scarface figures that the Dark Knight has infiltrated the ranks. Batman turns out the lights and in the dark, tries to take down Scarface before he starts. Batman does get the puppet but Sugar escapes. However, Scarface is ticking and Batman gets rid of the bomb. We cut to Sugar with her many "Scarfaces" and starts getting "close" to him. Creepy and superbly written. Pick this and Manhunter up, and you've got the best that DC has to offer , IMO.
Birds of Prey #101: (6 of 10) The new operatives are sneaking a ganglord's daughter out of prison in turn for the Dad turning state's evidence. A new "anti-Oracle" is brough up in Spy Smasher. Smasher also has a history with Babs somehow. Lots of Big Barda "rod" jokes (a bit much and I like a good Richard joke as much as anybody) and Manhunter is supposed to be in a precarious postition but we all know she's going to get out of there. I bought it for Manhunter. We'll see how it goes....nothing bad, nothing really good either.
Supes confidential #3: (8 of 10) Anthony Gallo is setting up Supes. Lois and Clark have a "talk about relationships" in which Lois says they're not going to date, basically. Solid stuff from Cooke and I'll buy anything Tim Sale does.
Batman/The Spirit One shot (8 of 10) I liked it although I'll say that I really didn't get a feel for what "The Spirit" character was supposed to be, other than he's a superhero. We get all the villians in both galleries. They're both meeting together to ace both cities Commisioners, Gordon and the other guy. The Joker doesn't want to be upstaged by The Octopus so he ruins it all and sets up the villians downfall. Like I said, I didn't get a good feel for the Spirit but I'm interested enough to check out the #1 issue out now.
I know there are some older issues here but I haven't bought for a few weeks.
