I realize there's a "Wildstorm" forum but being they're a sub-section of DC and this forum gets more traffic, I hope folks will forgive me.
I believe JacinB read "Midnighter" but I have to think there's more than just the two of us on HCRealms checking out this guy's monthly exploits. Frankly, previously, I wasn't a big Midnighter fan - he was the "Lobo-Batman" parody that too many folks took seriously. This new series is doing a lot to change that and the reason for that is pretty simple: Garth Ennis. Garth is one of those exemplary writers that can take carnage and over-the-top violence, wink at it so you know it's meant to be "humourous" but also throws you that curveball that reminds you in reality violence isn't funny, people do die and bad things happen in the world. His writing on "Midnighter" is so far pretty amusing - it's currently Garth's take on the age-long question of "If you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you do it?" - but with enough grim-and-gritty to keep it from being a total farce; I also fully expect that curveball at some point because, well, it's Garth.
That said, check out issue #3 - page 10 (not counting ad pages) alone is worth the price of admission.

Blasted xmas and new year, and frozen in trucks.
It will be interesting to see what Garth can do for/to Midnighter.
