but goodbye, Batman: Confidential. The story is boring and I hate the art. #1 rubbed me the wrong way, but I convinced myself to give it a chance and at least pick up #2. Now I did, and I certainly won't be picking up #3.

sucks batman confidential didn't work out, i envy that you haven't dropped a bat book i years, i have to play it by ear for what comics i buy and on story arcs.

I'm happy that the regular Batman has been good though.

I always like to give a book a full arc before making a determination. But I gotta say, I'm not seeing what's so bad about it. Unlike, say All-Star Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder. The story is wild and a bit incoherent, and it's compounded by it's awful release schedule.

With the end of this Ostrander interlude on Batman, I'm done with that title. Just not a fan at all of this approach of Morrison's. First time I stopped buying the title in about five years now too.

This next arc is the one I've been waiting for......The Joker. I'm a sucker for the Joker stories.

I had a good time with the "Grotesk" story. I hope that villain somehow survives and gets used again.

I'd also like to see a return of Johnny Karaoke, but that looks very unlikely.

Yeah, I'll probably at least flip through that one to see what he does, but honestly, I think I've read too many Joker stories now too. Sometimes a writer pulls off something magical with him like the little ditty Dini just did with him in Detective, but for the most part I can't help but sit back and wonder "Why the hell hasn't this guy been executed yet?" Usually he's just brought in to kill a bunch of peeps and then goes away or is locked up again. But eh, that's comics.

I'm waiting for that as well, however I'm considering dropping Batman as well. I'm liking Detective better at this point, but might keep getting Batman if the Joker story blows me away.

Definitely didn't care for the Grotesk arc.

I dropped a Batman just the other day. It just slipped out of my hands while I was reading it and fell right to the floor. Fortunately, I was able to retrieve it promptly.

I think you must be cheating Sigdr - you didn't pick up "All-Star Batman" which makes your statement easier. (Actually I haven't put ASB on my "dead" list yet for some reason...probably because I never really believe there's a next issue coming out in a realistic manner).

I haven't minded "Batman: Confidential"; considering each arc is supposed to be by different people as well, I would say two-issues is a bit premature to drop it but, hey, to each their own.

Oh, I might pick Confidential back up after this arc's over, but for now, it can consider itself dropped.

And yeah, I didn't pick up All-Star Batman. Hooray!

Yeah, I didn't care for it all that much either. I should be reading Detective regularly. But I saw that Dini's initial stuff is going to be out in TPB, so I'll wait till then to get the old stuff and maybe jump on now.

BTW, why have the Batman & Detective covers been so terrible lately?
