I didn't read Captain America #25, so I don't know how it panned out. But I ws just curious to see if Cap was in his costume when he was killed. I know that he wears chain mail armor, but I don't know how effective that would be against a bullet. Discuss.

actually the scale male is not bullet proof it oferes protection from edged weapons like blade but most bullets would pierce it.

Are we talking Cap's scale armor or scale armor in general? Because despite what scale armor may have been or what's in the real world, I could see Cap having a somewhat better than average version.

While I don't have the issue in front of me right now, I am pretty sure I remember the bullet hitting him, passing through the armor, then Cap, then coming out of the other side.

At first I thought that was really stupid - why would they let him keep his armor if he was a prisoner?! But the symbolic thing makes sense.

The sniper round definitely enters from the back of his neck/shoulder area and exits near the front of his neck/clavicle area. However, I think the wounds that will end up being the killing ones are the point blank shots to the stomach which were apparently fired by Sharon Carter.
