Wrong Ronan. that's Ronan the Accuser. This Ronan is the type based on an old japanesse tale. A masterless Samurai or some such.

I think J was making a joke because the Avengers one is spelled Ronin, not Ronan, who is the Kree one.

It is as biz567 has said. Also, a ronin isn't based on any sort of old Japanese tale. It's just the term used for a samurai without a master. After the feudal period, there were a lot of those.

I think Mr JTR is referring to the graphic novel Frank Miller wrote about the samurai warrior.

I think someone is going for the title of Captain Mediator. I'd give rep if I could.

Actually, I hadn't ever thought of that, never read it either.

And there is a tale of the Ronin, a group of samurai's who goofed up and their boss died, so they went forth and avenged him, then commited ritual suicide.
