1) What trumps what, BFCs or feat cards? Specifically--If Madness is in play and I'm using "And Stay Down!", what happens when I roll a 12?
2) My venue recently ruled that only one regen attempt can be made per round, even if you have auto regen. In other words, if I use my free action from auto regen at the beginning of my turn and roll a 1, I cannot use a power action to try my regular regen roll during that round. It was ruled this because of "what the FAQ" says. I was under the impression that the FAQ was worded as is so that someone wouldn't use more than one FREE action usage of regen from the feat card. Am I missing something? Is it true that if you use your free regen attempt from auto regen, you cannot then use a regular action to attempt a regen?

BFCs trump all. Your 12 would be a crit miss, and your feat would probably still activate. I'm not sure. But anyway, BFCs win.

One free action (Auto Regen), one power action (if needed). I believe that's how it works.
The Madness/And Stay Down combo you should be correct.
I read it:
Madness- Critical hits are critical misses, and vice versa.
And Stay Down- an attack roll of 11 or 12 is a critical hit.
Since Madness doesn't mention what is on the dice it doesn't matter what is rolled. Similar to if both Madness & Extraordinary Day were in play, 1 & 2- Crit Hit/ 11 & 12 Crit Miss.

1 - "And Stay Down!" only affects the character to which it's assigned, while Madness affects every fig on the board (just like all BfCs). So, BfCs will always 'trump' Feats. By the wording on the cards, both 11's and 12's would be Critical Misses for the fig with "And Stay Down!" when Madness is in play.
2 - Free actions don't affect other actions for a character (it can perform as many free actions as are available, and also one non-free, tokenable action of its choice). You're correct about the 'once per turn' aspect - it was added/errata'd because free actions that don't have that phrase could be used as many times as needed (in other words, if Auto.Regen. didn't have that phrase, you could keep rolling until you had a successful result that took you off the fig's Regen. clix). The free action of Auto.Regen does not affect the regular use of the power. You could Auto.Regen. for 1 click of healing... then if Regen. is still showing on the dial, the fig could use the regular Power action usage to try and gain more clix of healing. This is what makes it a good card. I'm wondering why anyone would think players would spend 12 extra points on a fig if Auto.Regen barred you from using 'regular' Regen. (especially when on average 1/3 of all Regen. rolls get you no healing at all).:cross-eye
