I heald a tournament tonight and had a player with the new spiderman (iron spider) and used stunning blow. I let him use it tonight, because the card says when a character uses incap. and the power on spiderman gives the incap. power, but it is altered some. Does the spiderman power and all such powers that give a power work as the prerequisite for feat cards?

sadly the answer is NO.

the key wording is 'spiderman CAN USE incapacitate'...he does not have the power. unless u see that light blue on attack they don't meet the prereq for the feats.

Sadly, he's right.... it would be SUCH a devistating combination if you could use those together..... dual-targetting 2 damage AND a guaranteed push on both targets...... Man, that would be awesome to field and scary to face. LOL!!!

To some up: A feat's prerequisites for a power cannot be met by a special power that lets you us,e or duplicate the effects of, said power.

Right. This will likely come up often for a while as people get the new Mandarin and want to field him, I suspect, with all of those power options. At least he can get some good mileage from Mental Shields, since Willpower is an alternate prerequisite, so he should be able to use it with his ring-simulated MC clicks on any click that also has Willpower -- and, of course, on the ones where he actually has MC. Stunning Blow, Telekinetic Reach, etc., though, will be things he can't use.

Nope.
The WP or MC can activate Mental Shields, but the SPs that let them USE WP or MC will NOT have any effect for/from Mental Shields. Same way that Stunning Blow can't be used on the new Spidey for his webbing power.

You may want to go back and re-read his post, 'cause that is exactly what he said.

On most (maybe even all, I can't recall off the top of my head) that Mandarin has a special power that allows him to use MC, he also has bonafide Willpower on his dial. This means the Willpower will allow him to use Mental Shields and then the Mental Shields will prevent him from taking feedback damage when using his SP-granted MC.

Happens to all of us. I'm mainly happy to see that I didn't have some fundamental element wrong; you're usually right on the money, so you had me worried for a sec'!

While we are talking about Spidey's new incap, I have another question.

What if you Thunderbolts "Guardians of the Globe" and roll doubles on the Webbing?

EDIT: I went are re-read the TA. If the target has only 0 or 1 after the attack resolves, then add an extra token.
