This might sound a little corney, but one of the main reasons I love playing clix is because I have met so many cool people playing it. I love my venue, it's so much fun, and the people there are great. HcRealms is awesome too, even though I haven't met a lot of you, I feel like we are somewhat friends, for the most part! So yeah, hanging with new people, meeting new people, that's what clix can do/does do.
And I agree with almost everything on the list(Except I don't like retirement, but whatever!)
Retirement is both good and bad really. Good for getting rid of "broke" pieces, bad for being able to do whatever theme you like. My venue always ran unrestricted. I'm glad you have a good group - it makes all the difference in the world. My area initially had a cool small group. Eventually we got to a point where I pretty much caught two people cheating and I heard another was basically thrown out for that. I play at home now cause I don't need to associate with people who would cheat in a game called HEROclix. Can't say I miss the time limits and other restrictions. I love themed adversarial 600 points on up & going to total elim. I get lost in 3 hour battles these days. It's great.
i like retirement becuase if you're gonna keep playing with the same characters then why make new ones.i actually don't like feat cards either.i been playin for over a two yrs now and all i see feat cards do is help ppl win when they really shouldn't.i need a critical to hit you and i roll it and you say''i'll use protected''.thats about as gay as it gets.i'm sooooooooooo glad they made thwart.i make sure i keep it on my team.with atleast 3 ppl using it i can take care of most feats that way.then it comes down to what it's suppose to be.my team against your team my dice against yours.every time i seea thign about a nice fig, ppl always mention a feat on them.more places should have games with no feats.then you'd see who the really good players are.
If the new changes are reeeaaaallly gonna decide wether you play heroclix or not.............then why bother getting involved with any comic book based at all...........something linked to an industry where characters, powers, mantles, origins change faster than you can say "Shazam!"
Many years ago I used to play a certain collectible card game that shall remain nameless...........anywho....that game has gone through many changes and still remains to be one of if not the top selling and played card game.
New sculpts will rock....smaller sets I am all for....they come out too fast and too numerous in my opinion and I got bills to pay beyond clix. Powers cards.......um I dont see the big deal about more stuff, something like that aint gonna ruin the game, just make it a little more convienent and personal. As far as "special powers or the white square power" it's about freakin time......some characters that have multiple powers at once should get these......batman loses outwit but gains close combat expert...so essenitally he gets dumber when he gets hit but can whoop more butt?? I dont think so. For some characters it's not needed but for some its sorely needed and I think the characters that do need it will get it.....and has anyone even discussed the point distribution on characters with these special powers.......I am sure wizkids will pop up the pts on characters with this advantage. Everyone seemed soooo happy when Impervious came out......invulnerability and supersenses.......um isnt that a white square already......and who gets it makes perfect sense for those characters. Anywho as I said at the start.........if yer that concerned about change in the game.........and the new powers and new cards.........why bother doing anything remotely involved with comics.........from dick grayson, jason todd, tim drake....theres been multiple robins...multiple costumes, multiple abilities and personalities...................such is the way with comics and anything related to them.
