Figures A & C are not on elevated terrain. Figure A is stealthed on top of an object. Figure B is on elevated terrain. Figure B wants to target Figure C who is directly behind Figure A in Figure B's LOF. Can Figure B target Figure C?
Argument for: Yes, figures do not block LOS when the attacker is on elevated.
Argument against: Figure A is stealthed and is thus treated as blocking terrain. Figure B cannot target because he cannot target through the blocking terrain created by the stealthed figure.
My leaning is towards yes, because LOF must be drawn to the stealthed figure before any hindering terrain is treated as blocking. If I'm targeting someone else, then I'm not drawing LOF to the stealthed figure.
Keleko your leaning hit it right on the head. In this example it doesn't matter whether figure A has stealth or not. It's not the
"hindering terrain treated as blocking terrain" that would have been the problem had all the figures been ground-based. It's the interviening figure (Figure A). When you went elevated, Figure B was able to ignore all interviening figures. So the attack was valid.
Also remember, a stealth figure does not turn the hindering terrain into blocking terrain. It makes it so a LOF traced to the stealthed figure is treated as though it crosses blocking terrain.
You cannot shoot over all terrains. Obviously, you can't shoot over another elavated terrain. And you cannot shoot over Barrier, which is not elavated but considered blocking terrain. The only time you can shoot over barrier is from rooftop to rooftop.
IMHO, even though I play it this way because it is based on the rules and credible judges' posts. I am also dissapointed that this isn't spelled out very clearly in FAQs.
