Well. Its also because the Cowboys have Star QB Romo, the Monster of a back, Julius Jones, and Barber who's great at getting touchdowns and first downs. And then don't forget their wide out, TO. Sure he may be old, but he's still a monster. The Cowboys are well rounded in everything except defense, but they have an adequate enough defense to carry them.

Coaching is a huge part of the NFL, particularly since the salary cap has made most teams relatively equal in terms of talent (now, whether or not they exercise that talent pool effectively is another story. See Detroit for an example). I have no doubt Dallas can be a wild card because... hey, it's the NFC. However, they are not going to be world champs.
