Warrick Dunn's sister lives 4 doors down from me ... he visits pretty often. Also, on the of the NY Giants (Safety I think) has a town house across from mine. I'll have to figure out who he is at some point.

Considering my uncle is the Defensive Line Coach of the Redskins (and used to be the Defensive Line Coach of the Bears, when they had an incredible D-Line), I've my fair share of NFL players.
I've gone to dinner with Brian Urlacher before (several times, actually), where it was just 3 members of my family (including my uncle), me, and Brian.
I've met Santanna Moss.
I've met Lance Briggs, too. Actually, I went to dinner with Greg Blache (uncle), Lance Briggs, Brian Urlacher, and Greg's younger brother.
Good times...
Unfortunately, I haven't met Drew Brees who I want to meet the most right now.
Maybe Ray Nagin can set something up for us before the game.
My uncle went to college with THE Jim Brown. They were on the track team together and my uncle loves to tell how Jim used to call him "the fastest, white kid he ever met". I've never met the guy myself, though.
I have met Warrick Dunn. He was pretty nice. Jamal Anderson sat on me at a bar a few years ago. He's a bit more tubby than he used to be. I ran into Charles Barkley in a Bar once. My buddy valeted at a place called Morton's where he always eats so they knew each other. I have met several hockey players from when I worked for the NHL but sadly I can only remember Willie O'Ree because he was at many of the events with us promoting the game to inner-city kids. According to one of our ex-patients Hines Ward lives down the road from me. He has seen him a few times running at a track not far from here but I have never cared enough to go find out if he was right. My father had a few classes with James Brooks when he was at Auburn. Brooks later played for Cincinnati. He also knew Al Del Grecco because they lived in the married dorms as well as my parents. He also met Dan Reeves at a little Diner back home.
My dad used to be in the whine business so I met a lot of Blues players. I have met

Craig "iron head" Hayward (I just found out he died )

I went to high school and played backyard football with current San Diego Charagers third string running back. However, he is on IR, and won't be playing this season.

Well, if you're going to go into other sports; I've met Steve Stone, Ed Farmer, Ozzie Guillen, Ron Kittle, and Carlton Fisk from baseball.
From Golf? Err, nobody personally. But I do have to share a story.
Ok, my brother is a HUGE golf nut. He loves the sport, he plays on the local tournaments when he can, understands the rules, etc.
He's walking into the health club here in Orland Park, the week of the Western Open 4 years ago. He walks in a TIGER WOODS walks out. He says hello, talks to him for a minute or so; Tiger goes on his way.
Next day is the practice round. Tiger's ball lands close to where my brother is watching, and he signals the PGA judge as to where Tiger's shot landed. Tiger walks up, says "Thanks Mike;" (yep, he remembered meeting my brother the day before AND his name) takes his shot, then signs my brother's ticket for the day.
I've seen Tiger up close, but that was during the final round of last years PGA championship at Medinah. Mike didn't get a chance to introduce us.
I've met a number of players from different sports, but sadly don't know any -- which to me, means they know you, and you sometimes socialize with them (like how Ross described his acquaintance with Jeremy Bloom).
There is a student in one of my classes that is a tennis player. She told me that her coach is the same guy who coaches Maria Sharapova. I'm not 100% certain if that is correct, but if it is, would it be wrong of me to ask if I could meet Maria??? I know, wishful thinking. I wouldn't ask, but I would like to.
