Howdy.
With the new change to Brilliant Tactician (allowing the BT to Perplex friendly characters who share a TA -OR- Keyword with them), is there any news on whether or not the Alpha Flight Alt TA / Feat will allow the bonus to attacks against opposing figures sharing a Keyword? It seems a natural extension (to me, at least), and I was wondering if this had been a topic of discussion yet...?
Very sorry if this has been brought up and resolved before now. Any info provided would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks,
-jason

As far as I know, Alpha flight has not received an errata entry, so it remains as printed.

And, worse than that: Brilliant Tactician required an actual reprint in order to be updated, so anyone hoping for this sort of change to Alpha Flight would have to settle for a new version of that card as well.
(What was the answer to the question about errata to the previously released BT to match the new one?)
TRADES. eBay.
An Admin told me that I'm "too smart" for Another Realm. I hold that as a standing order.
Some pls confirm this as well, but I think I read in this week's new errata/FAQ, I forget which document, that BT no longer works w/ the same TA. It has to be the same team SYMBOL or Keyword. That just made guys like V Taskmaster, Braniac 5 less formidable. No longer able to switch TAs and BT figs from different teams like they used to

I certainly hope that some other team gets an alt TA before we get a reprint of one of the two Avengers ATA's. (With the next set being MUTATIONS and Monsters, I'd lay money that we'll see new ones for X-Men and Brotherhood.

We have two things.
1) An entry in the general E&C stating that the latest feat's text applies to all versions.
2) An entry for the older BT in FF to reword it as the new. (Why that wasn't just removed as the general entry covered it, I don't know.)

That's correct. It went from "ability" to "symbol" for the team, but...they added that you can use it on keywords.

There's a problem with that kind of idea.
To use Brilliant Tactician on your own characters by keyword, you have to know what keywords each character has. It's your responsibility to bring the character cards (or print out the keyword lists for older sets) but you know that you're going to need them - so no problem. You could just print out a page that features the characters you're going to use.
However, if Alpha Flight worked against keywords, then you'd need to know what keywords apply to each of your opponent's figures. And there's a good chance that he hasn't brought keyword lists with him, because he didn't know that he needed them. Maybe he didn't even bring character cards - if he's using characters without special powers, he might not need them.

It makes the issue more complicated.
And if you're playing an unrestricted game without house-ruled keywords on older figures, using Alpha Flight against keywords could lead to a whole bunch of arguments:
"Yeah, but Thor should have the Ultimates keyword too! You're using Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, so I should get the +1 to them AND Thor!!"
"Thor doesn't have an official keyword, so no you can't do that "
And so forth...
