If a figure with Invulnerability receives knockback which will knock him off a building (from elevated terrain to grounded terrain) then that figure will receive 2 clicks of damage unless that figure has Flight). This damage can be 'soaked' by Invulnerability.
Damage from getting knocked into walls and off of buildings is reduced by invulnerability and toughness, but it is considered to be part of the attack damage, so the only time that it matters is if you're dealing with force blast.
I'm not sure if it's affected by Imperviousness.
Examples:
V Annihillus shoots V Utron and rolls double fives. Annihillus does 3 damage, Invulnerability takes two of those, and the remaining point of damage generates one square of knockback. If Ultron gets knocked back into the map edge, he takes one more click of damage because he already used up his invulnerability for the attack.
V Blue Beetle uses Force Blast to knock V Hercules off the edge of a building. The fall does two damage, but since Hercules hasn't used Toughness yet, it can prevent one point of damage, so Hercules takes only one click.
This leads to some fun questions though:
For Tsannik & Herocomplex:
If a healthy Hulk (no damage reduction) gets knocked back four squares by damage, can he use his newly aquired invulnerability to reduce knockback damage? Moreover, if a character goes from invulnerability to toughness from a blast, can he reduce the knockback damage by one?

I'm sorry but that last sentence bothers me. I always thought that it would go something like this:
If Juggernaut was on the ledge and hit for 3 points of damage then he would be knockbacked 1 square (3 minus 2 for invulnerability) pushing him over the edge for 2 more clicks of damage. All the damage is put on at once so he gets 5 minus the 2 for invulnerability (3 clicks of damage in the end).
So what exactly do you mean by 'soaked' by invulnerability?
Soak is an old-school gaming term that means 'negate'. The power absorbs or 'soaks up' X amount of damage. White Wolf games use the term pretty heavily. It can also refer to a character with massive life/HP/clicks/etc. who can be used as a human shield when entering a crowded battle. He runs forward to intercept the enemies and soaks the damage the party would've taken while the mages/RCEs/EE guys stay back and blast away.
And I also always thought that falling/knockback damage was included as part of the attack, since all damage is assigned at once. The FAQ had that line about Toughness etc. only resetting "each time the dice were rolled", not after each 'type' of damage.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
