Some of the threads I've read recently have led to this question... can't think of any specifics right now...
Is it true that a character using Outwit cannot do anything else?
Example: E Batman is fighting E Doomsday. He outwits Doomsday's impervious, then pops him with a batarang for 3 damage.
Is this scenario legal? If not, what are the specifics (I can't find it in the FAQ)...
Another good day at work. All the computers up and running. All employees happy and ready for tomorrow. All customers satisfied. All pigs fed and ready to fly."
just read faq and there is no restriction on using outwit and rce,cce in the same turn so you could use outwit and then whack with batman. In response to the last post the faq states that u can't use any attack relatted super power w/ rce,cce and outwit is not an attack.
hrm ..i thought you could use stuff like perplex and outwit before or after an action ..just not in the middle of it ..so is it possible to use RCE/CCE while making the attack ..then use outwit after your done ? let's say on a different target you just hit ?..just wondering
"the faq states that u can't use any attack relatted super power w/ rce,cce and outwit is not an attack."
This is untrue, as the FAQ states that NO power except Probability Control can be used by the attacker in conjunction with RCE/CCE, meaning the attacking character cannot Outwit or Perplex the target and still use RCE/CCE. Another figure can use those things on the target, but you cannot Perplex the attacker's stats in any way either.
"..so is it possible to use RCE/CCE while making the attack ..then use outwit after your done ? let's say on a different target you just hit ?"
Yes. Once you have completed the RCE attack, whether successful or not, you are still free to use Outwit/Perplex to your heart's content, since those powers may be used at any time on your turn except during an action. However remember that the RCE action doesn't end until after the clicks of damage have been taken. So OW'ing a defensive power will affect future attacks only.
Whenever someone asks me what I think the most dangerous animal is, i tell them it has to be a shark riding on an elephant, just eating and trampling everything in sight.
you can not perplex the attackers stats up who happens to be rceing, unless it's something silly like speed. You can't do anything to said character until the attack is over, however you can do whatever you feel like do the attackee, such as outwiting his invulnerability.
Um...correct me if I'm wrong here, but Outwit and CCE/RCE are all on the damage click, so it would be physically IMPOSSIBLE for the same character to use both of the powers in the same turn. I.E. This entire little rules-lawyering argument is moot.
And another thing on Perplex. I'm about to go re-read the FAQ on everything involved, but the powers card has for the RCE and CCE subtext: THIS power does not work with other super powers (such as Super Strength and Enhancement).
This is in reference to powers that increase the damage done. RCE/CCE increase the damage done, i.e. they cannot be used with another power to increase the amount of damage delt out. This would mean that you CAN Perplex up someone's Attack Value, making them more likely to hit. I mention this, because I have seen many instances on other threads of someone declaring "You cannot use Perplex on someone at all or else they lose RCE/CCE."
Many people will point out that "You can just Perplex down the opponent's damage." I've run into several situations where that could not apply, (attacker is stealthed, or behind a building edge, or one square out of Perplex range) and I see no reason why the Attack Value could not be increased.
The FAQ states that ANY modification of the numbers on the dial, Range, Movement, Attack, Damage, or Defense nulls RCE & CCE. That means perplexing anything on the dial of the character making the attack would eliminate the Expert ability. The only option you have would be to perplex down the targets defense or not use it at all.

With Superman Enemy, you can have both Outwit and CCE or RCE. So it's a practical question, not a theoretical one.

The ruling on RCE and CCE is that you can't be the subject of any super powers, including Super Strength, Perplex, Enhancement, Charge, Running Shot. In fact, Batman can't even use his Willpower on his CCE clicks. The FAQ represents this pretty clearly.
