two targets for a stunning blow attack and one has protected. what's the order on resolving this?
example:
stunning blow with two targets succeed on both target with one having a protected on. you can split the damage however you want right? does the player with protected declare he is using the feat before or after you declare how you are going to split the damage?
My understanding is that the choice of using the protected is announced after the attacker declares how he wishes the damage to be dealt.
Correct.
Protected 8 points
Sets:Armor Wars, Mutations and Monsters (prize support)
Choose a character. (Optional) If this character does not already have two tokens on it, damage dealt to the character as a result of a single action is ignored. After that action is resolved, give the character an action token and remove this feat from the game. If the character already had one action token on it, giving it a second action token deals pushing damage normally.
Errata:
Until the attacker divides and deals the damage protected can not be used. Only after damage is dealt does the option to use protected happen.

You have written here that only once the damage is dealt can the protected be used but shouldn't the fact that you put a second token on the character mean that you can't use the protected anymore?
I know this has been dealt with before but I still think the token should come first then the damage, and then as the very last thing the pushing damage if any.
Please forgive my confusion.
From way back, it was determined that the token and the damage from Stunning Blow/Incap is dealt simultaneously. Logically, it doesn't make perfect sense, but that's how it was ruled.
By the way, is it just me, or is the wording on the new Protected definitely different than the old version? If you really think about it, you could almost argue that the wording change alters the usage of the card. I was comparing them yesterday, and something about the timing of the token could be interpreted differently (because the wording has definitely changed). Maybe the change was made to clarify the Stunning Blow/Incap on Protected problem itself.

Not sure about how it interacts with the new wording (hopefully the same), but ideally, as an alternative, you could assign 0 damage to the figure with Protected and deal the full damage to the other target.
